- Lakewood Police are investigating a bias incident after multiple swastikas were found inside a sefardi shul on Spruce Street early Wednesday morning. Officers responded around 5:38 a.m. after a person arriving at the shul discovered the markings throughout the building. The swastikas were documented and removed, and police said they are actively working to identify those responsible. Authorities emphasized that bias-related incidents are taken very seriously.

ReplyDeleteIt has been nearly three years since the promise of "free tuition" became a major issue in Lakewood, with parents urged to vote amid assurances that meaningful tuition relief was on the horizon.
ReplyDeleteFast forward to today, Instead, tuition bills continue to climb alongside the rising cost of living, leaving many families struggling to keep up. Some schools are now warning that kids may not be registered for the upcoming school year until outstanding balances are paid.
What was accomplished? Why hasn't more been done over the past three years to ease the financial burden on families?
At the same time, Keren Olam HaTorah raised approximately $25 million in Lakewood, so a similar level of urgency was not been directed toward addressing the tuition crisis affecting local families.
Where are the Rabbonim and community leaders who strongly encouraged and even threatened their kehillos to vote based on the promise of tuition relief. Why has there been little public discussion as families continue to struggle and face mounting financial pressure.
