- Agudah: “Will Daylight Saving Time become permanent?”
That was the most frequently asked question we received this week and the answer may depend on what you do today. In the many meetings, emails, and texts exchanged this week between us and Senators and their staff, one thing became clear: many Senators have not yet decided how they plan to vote. However, they are facing enormous pressure to pass the bill.
That’s why it’s so important for you to take action today and share with Senators your concerns with permanent DST. Sunrises after 8 am, and in some places 9 am, for weeks and even months in the winter will increase the danger for children walking to school. It will also disrupt our religious practices such as delaying the start time of shacharis minyanim and the ability of employees to get to work on time after davening. Please take two minutes and contact your Senators today.

Here - Degel HaTorah responds to Netanyahu comments on Rav Dov Landau shlita: "The words of our great Torah sages are the Holy of Holies of the Jewish people, and by their teachings we live. Whoever does not live the world of Torah and does not understand the depth of their words would do better not to rush to interpret them and certainly not to attack them. Beware of their burning embers
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly condemns the words of Rav Dov Lando shlita who denounced those in the religious Zionist community who serve in the army, at a meeting with heads of the Mir Yeshiva, at his home in Bnei Brak: “I am speaking about those with knitted kippas that are required to go.”“If the state sends people, soldiers, for the honor of the state, and they kill people, is that also permissible? It’s very much murder. So they incite murder. They wage wars not only for the sake of salvation, but for the honor of the state,” he said.
In a statement released by his office, Netanyahu condemns the comments.“IDF soldiers, secular and Haredi, leave their homes, their work and their families, and risk their lives in order to protect the State of Israel, its citizens and all of the nation of Israel,”“They deserve deep appreciation, gratitude, and full support from all segments of the public, and certainly from the world of Torah,” the statement reads.
Thousands of Ger Chasidim protesting arrests of Yeshiva Bochurim by IDF

Gerer rebbe at the protest (YiShai Yerushalami)
At the Ger Hafgana outside prison 10
It's a sad day indeed when netanyahu criticizes both mamdani and r lando
ReplyDeleteIts a sad day indeed when they sound so similar!
DeleteSad ndeed that despite your so-called Yeshiva education you can't tell the difference!
DeleteI'm not comparing the people, chas v'shalom. But you can expalin how their messages are different. Mamdami says Israel is commitimg war crimes / genocide by killing thousands of innocents. When Jews yell that Israel has a right to defend itself, he says its disproportionate.
DeleteRav Landau says, they're not even defending themselves. They're just fighting for the glory of the State. They have destroyed Gaza , killed tens of thousands for no good reason. He called them murderers.
So I invite you, please explain the difference.
And explain why if Mamdami heard about this he wouldn't use it as proof that he is correct. Even this great Rabbi says The IDF are murderers!
Well I don't know what you're reading but I never seen anything with suggests what you're saying. He is not calling the soldiers murderers he is not saying that they don't sometimes fight for good reasons but he is saying is that the government sends the poor soldiers to fight and die for political reasons. Even if they only do it once they are still murderers for killing poor Jewish soldiers
DeleteDid you hear the video? He specifically says as a blanket rule that they wage war only for the honor of the medinah and these srugos think they have to go and people are killed . Isn't that retzicha mamush?
DeleteMy main point (aside from the tone of his and the bitul of an entire community) which you are supposed to explain to me why is what he said is not as bad Mandani? He is saying that Israel is not killing people in self defense. It goes to war only for their glory.
8:54 you’re right Rav dov did say that and like he said it’s poshut if you think otherwise you’re mushpa from the Zionists
DeleteIf the enrollment of public schools is down by 25% why is taxes going up
ReplyDeleteSeems they find stuff and don't disclose and release around this time every year
ReplyDeleteCan someone please eexplain what Rav Dov meant ?
ReplyDeleteThat's his responsibility
DeleteR Dov is saying that the war is no longer about protecting Israel, it's about protecting Bibi's ego and that Israel is not safer than before. The war did not bring safety.
DeleteSeems that we are safer . Gaza was shooting missles into israel daily. Lebanon was shooting rockets. Soldiers are protecting Israel. Hkbh should continue to protect us. and am yisroel.
DeleteYes, th Iranians are not building nuclear weapons, they're not building missile systems, they're not financing Hamas and Hezbollah and the hutties.
DeleteIran is a beautiful country with a lot of Torah learning., they blow shofar twice as much as BMG, they start slichot twenty plus days before us.
Why maybe the yeshivot who are afraid of giyus should move there. Even the Ayatollah , if he's alive, will give them a few million dollars to move.
There are less children in public schools as Pres Trump and Ice is having illegals leave the USA.
ReplyDeleteThe question is why is taxes still so high when there are less children?
ReplyDeleteHave you ever heard of Lakewood or any other town or state in NY NJ Eastern USA CA cutting taxes?
DeleteActually, Florida did.
Wonder why people are moving there, despite hurricanes and mosquitoes?
Public school has a fixed cost regardless of how many students are enrolled, so the less student, the higher cost per student. A class in cheder needs a rebbe, regardless f there is 1 child or 30 children enrolled in the class.
ReplyDeleteCan someone tell the Agudah USA to just SHUTUP!!!
ReplyDeleteActually this is a tremendous news item that has been obviously a complete 180 in policy. Probably another moetzes meeting which went on for hours deliberating the pros and cons of daylight savings time since last week the decision was to wish the United States government that they make the right decision this week they're calling for everyone to let their politicians know what they think which again is a very big non-decision. Good thing we have these people around sometimes.
DeleteWhat politicians do we have around sometimes?
DeleteI haven't seen anyone drop by Lakewood. The current governor refuses to give us vouchers, cuts our budget allocations from eight to one million dollars (that's OK, Adirei Torah got their two million.). Nursing homes got their priorities
But hamon am got nothing but higher tax bills.
Very confused Ger in EY are big zionists, they purposely speak in hebrew, sit in the treif kenneset, so what's their problem with the army?
ReplyDeletesame with Rav Lando's reps in the Knesset too. They all speak Hebrew at home (everyone speaks Hebrew in Israel, even my Dushinsky cousins.
DeleteWhat exactly makes them more zionists then degel? All of bnei braq no chassidim speak hebrew and sit in knesset too
DeleteBig zionists presumes the idea of small zionists.
DeleteHow so?
Personally, I think Knesset is less treif than Ger, but what do i know?
6:41pm,
Deletea low bar
Degel does not do miluwiem when they go to work. Ger does, goes for basic training, wear the army shmates when called up etc
ReplyDeleteHow does a antisemitic picture on social media with no proof become a reason to badmouth the Jewzz
ReplyDelete?
DeleteThey agree that working people have to work it in it with the army Protests are about buchrim and kollel
ReplyDeleteThey should make up their minds if they are tzionim or not
ReplyDelete
