ReplyDeleteWhy is the township scheduling fireworks show tonight, competing with our president's major speech?

After cutting out commissions to RE brokers, Mandami is having them cover the credit checks?
I used to live in Pennsylvania. The local JCC wanted to accommodate the shomer shabbat members, so they scheduled separate hours. No one came. They gave them one more time, and only one or two came, so they had to get rid of the accomodation.
In deBlasio NYC, the human rights commission brought charges against the city for separate hours in a municipal pool in Greenpoint, near Williamsburg. They quickly had to drop charges when it turned out Muslim women were big users of the separate hours.

Why is township making fireworks when it's dangerous to be outside and breathe the smoky air
ReplyDeleteOne of the main causes of Canada wildfires is environmental protection so now hashem gives us wood to build. on average 3 million acres burn a year which can build up to 12 million houses when he gives us and we don't take and appreciate it but rather worry about it the environment he takes it back and the environment suffers too.
ReplyDeleteYou can either hold your breath during the show, or wear a mask
ReplyDeleteDid any local Rav come out against watching the fireworks tonight during the 9 days?
ReplyDeleteAnd if they do will anyone listen?

Fireworks are not permitted ever. Google it. The mekor of fireworks was/is avoda zora.
DeleteMishna Berurah specifically discusses fireworks approvingly in hilchot Simchat Torah.
Deleteaccording to APP, the majority of the development re4siudents are orthodox jews. so they can institute separate swimming. And its three hours for men, three hours for women, and three hours mixed. varies by day of the week, plus open swim on saturdays and sundays.
ReplyDeleteIt’s a bit more nuanced than that. Theres fair housing regulations. Since it’s an HOA it may be even more complicated. I’m hoping they checked with the lawyers.
DeleteEither way there’s a fb page called Jackson residents for change and they are not happy with the Yidden. Seems like every other person in Jackson hates us based on their posts.
I guess a successor web page to Stand up Jackson (and Tom's River).
DeleteIt cost both towns several millions of dollars. Not that any Jewish residents saw a penny of that money. Only a few askanim profited
If they don't like the yidden, they can sell their homes to those yidden for BIG profits.
Delete7:02- comments like that dont help bridge community relations
DeleteHard to bridge community relations where antisemitism exists.
DeleteHi, I’m the one that commented about the Facebook page, while I think it’s ridiculous for people to think the community should stay the same just because their families moved to Jackson in the early 1900s. I do think some of our behavior warrants their negativity. Something we should all think about as we move into a neighborhood while we are in galus. The point is that even if these people could make money selling their homes, they don’t want to, and they view us as an invasion.
