Rosh Chodesh Nissan 5786
The month in which salvations abound
Am Hashem, be strong and strengthen yourselves
At a time when the entire world is in turmoil, and no one knows what a day may bring, the enemies of Klal Yisroel are digging in their claws to shake the walls of the House of Yisroel, especially our brethren, the residents of Eretz Hakodesh, who are in distress and in real danger, both spiritually and physically, may Hashem have mercy.
Let us awaken upon hearing the voice of Hashem -- “It is I Who have waged wars” (Avodah Zarah 2b) -- calling to us to return with a complete heart and to strengthen ourselves in heartfelt prayer, in charity and acts of kindness, in careful observance of the mitzvos, and in the study of Torah -- and to add the study of two halachos each day (during this period, the laws of Pesach are especially appropriate) as a merit for our Jewish brethren.
May the Master of Wars accept our repentance and hear our cries, so that we will not hear of devastation and destruction. Let us unite our hearts as one to our Father in Heaven, to ascend to Tzion with song, and to partake there of the offerings and the Korban Pesach, speedily in our days.
