FOUND! Search for Missing Bachur in Vermont


Update: The boy is B"H Safe and sound and in good health. he has contacted his family using someones cell phone he is still in the woods A Search team went in and are now escorting  him back from the forest . (CH Info)



A search is underway for a teenage boy missing in Vermont. Please daven for  the safe return of  Shmuel ben Chasha who got separated from his group at Machna Pioneers.



Hamodia- The Vermont State Police is searching for the missing hiker, who was last seen Wednesday evening with a large group of friends on the Appalachian Trail near the Cooper Lodge in Killington. The hiker is identified as Shamuel Rabinowitz, 15, of Montreal. The last contact with him was at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2019.


Shmuel is described as standing 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds, with blue eyes and dirty blond hair. He was last seen wearing a lime green shirt, tan pants, a black baseball cap and a blue backpack.

The 15-year-old was part of a group of campers from a Lubavitcher camp in Montreal that had gone a trip to Killington, Vermont.

Around 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Chaveirim of Rockland, which has experience in conducting searches, received a call that the boy had gone missing while hiking. Twenty-five members of Chaveirim of Rockland and KJ are headed to Vermont to conduct a search.

Search crews have been working along hiking trails and any corridors near the last point of contact. Agencies involved in the search effort include the Vermont State Police Search and Rescue Team, Killington Search and Rescue, New England K-9 Search and Rescue, Upper Valley Wilderness Response Team, U.S. Forest Service, Green Mountain Club, and the Vermont National Guard.

By 2:30 this afternoon, Rockland Chaverim have arrived at the search site, and Lakewood and Montreal Chaverim  are enroute.

Readers are asked to daven for the safe return of Shmuel ben Chasha.
