ReplyDeleteThis is an update. Please feel free to forward.
ReplyDeleteThere is no new news at this time. The search time is literally using every type of technology and branch of government to search the area where Rabbi Bauman was last seen and is most likely to be based on computer models. Thousands of people and congregations throughout the world have been davening, including nonstop Tehillim here in Norfolk.
Many national organizations are involved including Chaveirim, Achiezer, and Chai Lifeline.
The boys are all safe and well. There will be a meeting tonight limited to parents of the boys who were there. The meeting will be at 9:00 with Rabbi Bender, and therapists from Chai Lifeline and locally.
There will be further meetings to be announced as events develop.
If you were planning to attend the Wilson wedding, please do so. We will keep everyone updated.
Point people on this are myself, Mrs. Haber with the family, Rabbi Litt with camp, and Rabbi Slone with rescue efforts.
Virgina update : A variety of emergency personnel from the New York area are mobilizing to head to the area to assist in the recovery for missing Rabbi Reuven Bauman. A large trained team from “Hatzolah Air” are scheduled to depart NY on Wednesday morning and will assist the recovery by air, land and sea. A team from Rockland Chaveirim are mobilizing as well, including special sonar equipment used to search underwater.
ReplyDeleteGood morning. This is Rabbi Haber with an update. There has been no further news overnight. The coast guard and other agencies have searched through the night and continue to search now. Achiezer is working closely with the command center and is poised both to assist them and to coordinate resources to take over the search if necessary. Please continue to daven for Hashem’s help and that he give koach to everyone involved.
ReplyDeleteMy brother traveled through the night from Lakewood with friends and jetskis to assist. Hatzlocho CB

ReplyDelete"First Jodie wants everyone to know they were not swimming as it sounds. They were apparently walking along the beach and some boys rolled up pants and were just going in a little. Apparently two went to far andca wave knocked one over or tripped him, whatever then the rip currents got him and Rabbi tried to help him. He was then pulled under and never seen again. The VB police still have boats, helicopters and planes searching until dark. The rabbi from Far Rockaway with Achiezer who is leading the coordinations of all the volunteers said the beach police have been extremely impressed with the boats, and jet skis and private planes belonging to Jews from all over the east coast have been coming to help. He feels it is why they are still looking. They do not believe he is alive and their hope now is to find the body. If they don’t by tomorrow this time Rabbi Haber said the community and family will have to deal with kriah and Shiva. He asked for now to still say Tehilim. The woman from Chai lifeline is working with his family and all the boys who witnessed it. She is excellent."
I do not have any other information-
