Tonight: Lakewood Planning Board Meeting

Update: Eagle Ridge Application will NOT be heard tonight. It has been tabled to a future meeting. There was a conflict of interesst for some planning board members which resulted in a lack of quarum for this application. It will be heard on April 2nd with the possibility of borrowing zoning bored members to the planning board according to a report in the APP.

  1. Just so your readers understand that the fact that some planning board members are recusing themselves and are not voting on the Eagle Ridge application, doesn't mean it won't be approved. Under the MLUL, an application must be heard 95 days (or 120 day for certain applications) after being deemed complete, or IT IS APPROVED AUTOMATICALLY. So if there's no quorum and the application doesn't get heard, it will be approved by default.

    1. Makes you wonder why so many people with conflicts of interest were appointed in the first place. Out of a town with 120k people, more than 50k adults, I am sure they could have found at least 49k people who don't have conflicts of interest with developers.

    18-702 Decisions on Applications for Development

    O. Failure to Make Decision within Time. The failure of the Board to act within such time period or extension thereof shall constitute a decision favorable to the applicant or appellant. A certificate of the Board Secretary as to such failure shall be issued on request of the applicant or appellant, and it shall be sufficient in lieu of written endorsement or other evidence of approval required by this section and shall be accepted as such by the County Clerk for purposes of filing subdivision plats.
