A small plane crashed into the trees short of the runway Saturday at a New Jersey airport, the FAA said. The Bellanca plane was trying to land at Lakewood Township Airport at 1 p.m. when it crashed into the trees, according to the Federal Aviation Administration
The pilot was trying to avoid downtown traffic.
