    1. What do the people who send their naive followers day after day to block highways instead of sitting in the Beis Medrash think is going to happen to them? How would we feel if a group whose cause we strongly disagreed with insisted on blocking Route 9 every single day? What would we expect, I mean demand the police do about it? And much as I oppose the draft of Lomdei Torah when I saw this Shabbos, in the propaganda leaflets that this group leaves in my shul, that they proudly advertise protesting daily outside a voluntary civilian workplace associated with the IDF it made me wonder whether these people are even acting l’shem Shamayim anymore, or whether the protests and looking for a fight have become an end in their own right.

    2. Uh, I think you’re a little confused about what the protests are meant to accomplish. Obviously those that support the giyus are upset that they are blocking the streets. . . The protests are meant to 1. be a machoh against an evil thing the Israeli government is doing, even without a practical outcome and 2. create a disincentive to arrest chareidim which has been effective in the past like when the police officially changed their policy of handing people over to the military because they couldn’t handle all of the protests (which they recently reversed) and when the bochur who was the focus of this particular protest was facing 3 months in prison was released within 24 hours. Now, what if I was a rasha and someone was protesting some terrible thing that I was doing, would I shoot gas canisters at their heads? Well I guess it depends how big of a rasha I was, hence the video.

    3. I understand perfectly well what the protests are intended to accomplish. The George Floyd rioters said essentially the same thing as you and thought exactly the same way. The rioters in France and Spain will tell you much the same thing. And the police who beat them will offer essentially the same justifications as the Israeli police.
Protesters and rioters always claim they are fighting injustice, while the police always claim they are maintaining law and order. That is the nature of the game.
If the tactics a group chooses for its macha'ah involve constantly blocking major highways and deliberately confronting the police, then the possibility of its members getting seriously beaten up is a consequence they knew about and accepted beforehand . The same way this group shows videos of themselves getting beaten up to gain sympathy , those who want to draft all Lomdei Torah also show videos of this group to gain support for their side . Only what they show is before the police arrive when they are blocking roads, disrupting traffic, and making life miserable for innocent people who have nothing to do with the dispute.

    4. 10:08 If this group wasn't also protesting and blocking highways in front of voluntary Chareidi enlistment centers and civilian work offices , many of which have higher standards of frumkeit than many Lakewood offices, maybe you could make your argument. But seeing that this group makes daily protests even there erases the claim that this is about the draft.

    1. What's the proper way
How many times did they sing the high part from Veynenu.. sirenah..

    2. Nobody sings it better than the great r Shlomo z"l himself on his 1959 debut album, the best Jewish music album in history and it certainly will never be topped. Chas veshalom to have this great composer of some of the best, Jewish Niggunim, whose impact On all of klal yisrael gets larger every single day since his untimely death, On the cover of Ami or mishpachah magazine with a comprehensive article, that's long overdue. We can put every Israeli atheist on the cover, but not someone who brought tens of thousands back to yoddishkeit

  4. When did Degel Hatorah's Moetzes cease to operate?

    1. Since the party was stolen away from Rav Shach and taken over by businessmen. Degel today is a new party reinvented stolen from what it was meant to be. They did everything to erase the name of Rav Shach who founded and built it

    2. Not counting pre-election photo ops, when has it ever operated?

    3. The party continued its path as Rav Shach forged it.
He placed the Moetzes members in their positions, and they continued his path. He appointed a Va'adah Ruchanis for the Yated, and when the editors decided not to listen to them, the Va'adah Ruchanis dismissed them. Their daas baaleibatim could not handle that, and they created a new party. Like Shearim and PAI, for those who remember.

    4. And the vaadah opened a new newspaper.

    5. Same in America.
Rav Aharon z"l appointed his friends to the moetzet, and Rav Sherrer cooperated.
After he was gone, it became a personal moneymaking organization for the moetzet and Agudah leadership.

Why should the Israeli version of Agudah be any different?
Degel and Shas (also started by Rav Schach) were smart enough to get in on the action.
(Yes. Technicality, Degel and Agudah switched places.)

    2. Shame on any Ben Torah who looks up to Agudah (in America or Israel) or the Lakewood municipal leadership.

(We look up to his songs and chazzanut, not necessarily he himself.)

    3. Shame on any. Ben Torah who ignores his Titanic accomplishments in many different fields. This Great man. Continued to have more of an impact on yiddishkeit than many prominent roshei yeshiva. His great songs are on the hearts and minds of people haraving on a sugya, women during childbirth singing his songs, Old young single married boys, girls men, women. Everybody sings and is uplifted and inspired and becomes closer to hashem through his amazing talent and the rich legacy of songs that he left over. Perhaps you're not musical, but even so your comment is reprehensible and wrong and misguided

    4. Choteh nizkar. He meant well, but that doesn't absolve him. Chazal sometimes condemn people who mean well, but in the process sin . Paradoxically sometimes they grant a 'get out of jail free'.
Many of us mean well and can accomplish an enormous amount. We're not willing to slip and sin to get there

Since when" did or didn't do is bein adam lamakom and none of anyone's business" become a part of your religion?
Particularly when making someone Publicly acceptable / role model?!

We klap forgiveness so what other people do.

  7. Sure, they will continue to pontificate how how much more Torah there is than ever before. It is cosmetics, window dressing, and back slapping.
Underneath the system is reeling from its own glossed instabilities. NY / NJ are basically finished.
America was supposed to be the "leste stanzia".But we are not told how many relocations and where in America.
Those who are sincere should start preparing themselves eventually for the sake of Torah we're going to have to move and rebuild elsewhere.
The only hope is that all of us who are aware, will not need- yet again- to relearn these lessons of the injustices and tragic failures which caused the downfall of the dream in this region.
