Last night at the Toms River council meeting the town signed an agreement with the Tallymawr Eruv association allowing them to use the township airspace by running a wire over Benjamin street in order to construct the Eruv.
RESOLUTION of the Township Council of the Township of Toms River, Ocean County, New Jersey, authorizing a license agreement between the Township and Tallymawr Eruv Association for the use of Township Airspace over Benjamin Street.
APP reports Township Administrator Donald A. Guardian said "There are no fences or utility poles" that can be used to build an Eruv there, hence the need to build it between two flag poles. He said the agreement also absolves the township from any liability should there be any issues related to the eruv's construction.
Sanity always prevails. Hopefully the people moving there will be sensitive to the desires of the people that have lived there for so many years. Tom's River will be a beautiful place to live and a natural extension for young couples to move to now that Lakewood is full. Thank you Tom's River for being so understanding. I have friends that moved there and love it.
ReplyDeleteThis is the key phrase--"Hopefully the people moving there will be sensative to the desire of the peopel that have there for so many years." Change happens, it is progress, but let's live, let live and love all our neighbors as our selves.

Hey that map doesn't appear to include Benjamin street in Tom's River. Also is this the only eruv plans in Tom's river? We are moving there, and just wanted some general info.
