Tehilim for Victims of Bus Crash on way to Yerushalayim

YERUSHALAYIM (Hamodia)- Two ladies from Modiin Illit were killed, and dozens others injured, when a bus overturned on Route 443 after hitting a car, on the way from Modiin Illit to Yerushalayim on Sunday morning.  They were identified as Mrs. Rachel Guttman, a”h, 29, and Mrs. Ruchama Rosen, a”h, 27. Their levayos will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday night, from the main shul of Modiin Ililt on Sdei Chemed St., to Yerushalayim.  Please daven for Chemdatia Ditza bas Rivka; Tamar bas Rivka; and Moshe ben Chanah Hendel, who are hospitalized in serious condition.



MDA reported that 41 people were injured in the accident: two in serious condition, five in moderate condition and the rest in light condition. Injured passengers were evacuated from the scene of the crash to nearby hospitals in Yerushalayim and in Tel Aviv.

The bus was the 304 line that left Modiin Illit and was on its way to Har Nof in Yerushalayim, carrying dozens of passengers. The victims were scattered over an area of ​​about 100 meters.

Police and fire forces helped rescue some of the wounded in the accident. In order to rescue them, they used a crane, which raised the bus.

An initial police investigation shows that just before 10:00 am (local time), a minor road accident occurred between two vehicles in the direction from Beit Horon to Modiin.


A van traveling in the opposite direction noticed the accident and stopped in the separation area on the left side of the road with the intention of providing assistance to the accident victims.

Meanwhile, the bus driver who was driving behind the van hit it and then turned on its side, slid into a ditch and hit a safety railing.

  1. For this reason alone it should be illegal to hitchike in lakewood, because cars are flagged down by bochurim and the drivers often fail to look behind them to see who is coming and stop but dont pull all the way over. This is a daily occurrence
