Eagle Ridge Hearing today- Injunction filed to Temporary stop Application

Update: 3:30 pm Judge issues 30 day injunction on Eagle Ridge application at the Lakewood Planing board.
The Lakewood Planing board is scheduled to hear a application for the Eagle Ridge golf course development tonight. A lawyer for  Residents of nearby Fairways has filed for an injunction asking a judge to temporary stop the approval for the plan. The suit asks the judge to invalidate Lakewood’s master plan and amendments to the township’s development ordinances,

-In the lawsuit:
- "It is common knowledge Lakewood suffers from wide spread corruption"
- conflicts of interest by Lakewood officials that have financial ties
- lawyers for the developer failed to notify about related lawsuits that judge overturned parts of the master plan
- Golf course was set as open space for the Fairways

A Spokesperson for Eagle Ridge development quoted in the Lakewood scoop  “Contrary to what some outliers and critics are trying to insinuate, this is good for Lakewood and the opposition is a small minority.

A Judge is expected to hear arguments today at 2;30 pm APP reports

    1. What is the downside? What is the upside? Have you driven on cross Street in the past year? Number of other issues, a judge removed the stipulation in the Smart Growth Plan that required building improvements due to a lawsuit from the developer, aside for the fact that the town didn't defend it properly, the ruling should have invalidated the entire Master Plan for that area. The Township committee seemed to admit that changing the R40 zone would be destructive if not for the improvements, so for a judge to annul the improvements, while keeping the zoning changes, is very sketchy.

There are a number of other issues that pertain to the Fairways lawsuit against the developers. They did not notify of them of the lawsuit to change the Master Plan, even though they were a party to a lawsuit where the outcome would have an impact on it. The Fairways is also suing regarding whether the developer or any future buyer has any right to change the use of the golf course.

It is a legal mess, thanks to the members of the Lakewood Township committee

    1. Why is the Township paying an attorney, to fight against the residents of this town?

  3. Can someone explain what's going on with the land next to Elmwood Village? A sign went up recently that Satmar is building Shlav gimmel. Did they go to the planning board for this? When was this approved? It seems that some trees were knocked down already and there was a bulldozer there. HH, what's the Reid?
