Update: Greaterlakewood.com- Uggs can be worn but should be checked
Due to information that has come to light, NCSTAR (National council of shaatnez testers and researchers) has said that uggs should not be worn even if they were previously tested until further notice. Three is a thorough investigation being performed and an update will be sent out upon completion." The company UGG put out a statement saying all their boots contain linen. Shatnez checkers have not found linen in the places they usually check. Rabbi Sayagh of lakewood shatnez has contacted the company and the company will be contacting the manufacturers. In the meantime Rabbi Sayagh and other Shatnez checkers are opening up UGG boots completely and examining them. They expect to have an answer Monday or Tuesday.
