Letter From Rav Aharon Feldman Shlita To the Atzeres in Lakewood

The Letter was read last night at the atzeres on Giyus in Lakewood.

  1. Wow a powerful letter rebuking the convention speech. "It doesn't matter if one side is a rov or a miyut... each side is permitted to hold its view"

  2. Both sides have a right to their opinions. But they do not have a right to bashmutz and be mevaze the Gedolim on the other side. And if they had any brains they would understand that they only damage their own position by doing so.

  3. The Noviminsker was basically asking that we should live in peace here and not get involved in machlokes. How could anyone disagree? I don’t think that any gadol agrees with the fights that are going on and that is how I understood the noviminsker Rebbe.

    1. The Novominsker basically said that we should all live in peace and not get involved in machlokes because we should all follow him that the emes is like a specific side and therefore there is no machlokes. That's what I understood.

  4. Wondering why the frum websites did not publish this letter? Because they are fake news and won't print a opposing view.

    1. Maybe because the letter appears to be a forgery. Rav Aharon Feldman would not write "jillions of Jews".

    2. This letter is 100% true and was read at loud verbatim by Rav Gorelick at the Asifa in Lakewood. Its obviously a typo and should have said " Millions".
The frum websites are all controlled and pander to a certain base who pays them. They are here to make money, not to tell or report the truth

    3. When it was read out loud verbatim did the person reading it say "jillions"?

  5. I'm not sure why you think it is incumbent upon the frum websites to print this letter. The frum websites are here to provide news that fits within a Torah based framework. They don't want their platform to be a vehicle that promotes a view that they don't believe is correct according to the Torah.

    1. Obviously the problem is that the "frum" websites do not subscribe to a belief system that is correct according to the Torah. As per the true words in the letter, following blindly one opinion while shutting down the dissenting opinion is not correct according to the Torah. According to Stalinism, maybe, but not according to the Torah. And it is definitely not becoming those leaders who claim to represent the bnei Torah on these shores.

The Torah says you should follow the majority. The Steipler writes in a letter that this applies in our times too with regards to following the majority of Rabbonim and Gedolei Yisroel in matters of hanhagas haklal.

    3. The Steipler's letter is really not relevant here. What's more, there is no majority. It's a bunch of fake news. If you really want to know, the silent majority, which is the majority of true bnei Torah who know how to think for themselves and do not drink the kool-aid do not hold with with the Novominsker. Neither do a slew of Roshei Yeshiva such as Rav Malkiel and Rav Aharon Feldman et al. With all due respect to the opinions on the other side.

"the majority of true bnei Torah who know how to think for themselves and do not drink the kool-aid"
I guess you don't consider R' Chaim Kanievsky, R' Gershon Edelstein, R' Dov Lando etc. etc. to be true bnei Torah and believe they are just drinking the kool-aid.
Thanks for clarifying your views on this matter.
