BOE Vacancy after Member Resigns to Protest State Loan

A Lakewood Board Of Education member resigned, to protest that States lack of funding to the district after he initially voted to accept a loan that he now claims can not be repaid. In a Letter below (courtesy of APP)  Mr. Heriberto Rodriguez said  "We all know that (the) State is fully aware that we cannot repay this loan,I am a man of integrity and I strongly feel that I am misleading the students, faculty and community in saying, 'everything is ok' full well knowing, that it is not. The state does not have the best intentions he said.
On the Lakewood School district website  it lists a vacancy notice to apply for the BOE.  Deadline of 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2018.  see letter below
