Lakewood Election:
Following the results of the New Jersey gubernatorial election, Lakewood officials extended their congratulations to Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill, noting their history of collaboration with her during her tenure in Congress. In the days after the election, a message circulated within the community highlighted the exceptionally high voter turnout in Lakewood and other Orthodox areas, describing it as both historic and clearly recognized at all levels of government. The statement underscored the growing civic engagement and influence of the kehila in statewide affairs.
Meanwhihle following the election, more residents in Lakewood are expressing a growing sense of frustration and disconnection from local leadership.
Many feel they no longer have real representation in the township and that no one is truly advocating for their interests or concerns. The sentiment reflects a deeper feeling that community voices are being overlooked in local decision-making.
-Trump: The Democrats will terminate the Filibuster in THE FIRST HOUR, if and when they assume “control” or power. Republicans have what the Democrats want — We should do it, NOW, and have the greatest three years in History!
- Democrats in New Jersey are on pace to pick up a total of 5 seats in the state Assembly, likely giving them a 57-23 seat majority in the chamber.
Where did the votes come from??
The 2025 New Jersey turnout is raising some serious questions. The state just recorded its largest surge in voter participation since the 1980s yet Mikie Sherrill’s campaign was, by most accounts, uninspiring and low-energy
Conservative pundits question the high Democrat voter turnout in New Jersey following the election of Mikie Sherrill: Despite that, she managed to win with roughly 1.8 million votes, setting a new record for a gubernatorial candidate and surpassing Phil Murphy’s totals by nearly 450,000. What’s puzzling is that this occurred even as Trump’s approval rating in New Jersey polls higher than Murphy’s. The numbers simply don’t align with the enthusiasm on the ground or the campaign dynamics. It’s worth asking: what exactly drove this historic spike in votes for such a mediocre campaign?
- Jackson: statement from council member elect Chris Pollak The people of Jackson showed they want honesty, transparency, and leadership that serves residents, not special interests. They showed they are done with backroom politics, propaganda, and taxpayer-funded political games. Faanews.com
-JNS article argues that Zohran Mamdani’s mayoral victory was made possible by two main developments:Demographic shifts New York’s traditional working-class white ethnic base has largely moved out, replaced by growing immigrant populations, including many Muslim voters from South Asia and the Middle East, which changed the city’s political makeup. Cultural normalization of antisemitism Views that were once politically unacceptable such as harsh anti-Israel rhetoric or open hostility toward Jews have become tolerated within mainstream liberal circles
- One in three N.J. residents speak a language - other than English
About 34% of New Jersey residents age 5 and older, or 3,082,476, speak a language other than English. This means that 1 in 3 New Jerseyans was bilingual as of 2024, exceeding the nationwide figure of about 21%.
: 84% of Gen Z women (18-29) voted for Zohran Mamdani
ReplyDeleteKamala Harris across the country was only a little worse
Those trends have been developing for generations
An open discussion, of course, whether women, especially young women, ought to have the suffrage is virtually treated as criminal.
interestingly, when women were given the full vote in 1920, approx. half of women then were against women having the vote.Prudent they were.
Such info like that is usually kept under wraps
Does your wife work? It isn't 1920
DeleteI agree that women should not be allowed to vote.
DeleteI also think that men should not be allowed to vote, because men are often birthed by women.
Mr. Cohen seems to be of the opinion that anyone who doesn't vote like him should be denied the vote.
DeleteAnd he wonders why an 'open discussion' is virtually treated as criminal.
US Jews consistently vote overwhelmingly liberal, maybe we should take their votes away too? Lakewood keeps voting for the Vaad candidates, maybe no one in Lakewood should be allowed to vote either.
DeleteWives working to help their family has nothing to do with the fact that half the women were against females being given a vote.
DeleteIt isn't 1920
Althou it's impressive to see that you know your calendar year, this has zero relevance.
Women are still פסול לעדות, and they well understand why. They are an important part humanity, and their strength is not these types of decisions.
Irrelevant. Women ought to be educated. Better than the pretense that actually happens in our communities. That however is unconnected whatsoever with the usurpation of the weight of the formal political edifice.
Deleteiirc Current propaganda notwithstanding, plenty of women graduated from University in the 19th century
1:51,
DeleteOn cost basis of their record they shouldn't have the vote, even when they vote the 'right' way-like us
2:14
Overall that wouldn't be so bad!
Based on their record & consequences of the past century.
However with women out of the picture, males start valuing their vote more judiciously, so some of that demographic would be obviated
1:46
Chickens also shouldn't be allowed to vote.Since women cook chickens.
Women have always been throughout those Dark pseudo "male predominant[sic]" earlier {the horror;uh,when really was that if ever} Ages, very adept at vicariously influencing in their feminine way their family at everything-politics therefore as well.Without having the political veto.
People in NJ are intelligent enough to know two languages?
ReplyDeleteWhy do I never meet them? Most people I meet aren't even smart enough to know one language.
Why is Trump getting Ozempic cheaper instead of getting all healthcare costs down? Which askanim are invested in healthcare, getting him to keep prices high?
ReplyDeleteReduced obesity will lower many diseases, thus lowering all healthcare costs.
DeleteInfluenced of the kehilah, what a bunch of BS you see the person they spent millions of dollars in ads for did not win a shame the money didn't go to help our poor yungerlite instead
ReplyDeleteNo ladies should not vote and they should not work they should be at home taking care of the kids and peeling potatoes
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrible comment!
DeletePotato peels are very healthy, they should not be removed. Cook potatoes in their skins, they are very nutritious that way
3:15pm,
DeleteAttempt at sarcasm fell flat.No purpose to build a strawman or strawwoman.
'I am most anxious to enlist everyone who can speak or write to join in checking this mad, wicked folly of “Women's Rights,” with all its attendant horrors'- Queen Victoria
I'm astonished by the astonishment to Mr. Cohen's Post. Looks like the women's equal rights etc. have seeped into the frum world - what happened to Nashim daten kalos etc.? I didnt read the study but it seems like in the conclusion women make decisions very different than men https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10954116/
DeleteReality being what it is ,we all should concur now as women & women's attitudes have come to predominate
Delete(a.as they are the majority
b. Enough shady males will follow womens' detours to cheat 'for benefits' involved)
whereas millions of women get persuaded to use their clout regularly in egregious ways to the detriment of all [many come to regret themselves when they get much older- check out substacks] ,
the chance we will have is by putting the onus is on the shoulders of our women to get out & combat it steadily
Yea.Better that than the marketing parties those cheeky ladies held for Gottheimer & Schnall
DeletePlease we are not interested that all about anything of Shlomo carlebach who was thrown out of BMG by Rabbi Aaron
ReplyDeleteI am v interested in Shlomo Carlebach. He was a great lamdan, a shtick ruchniyus, and an inspiring figure.
DeleteHe was never thrown out by Rav Aaron! A complete myth. R Aaron was devastated when the great baal kishron Reb Shlomo Carlbach z"l, who was one of the top 5 bachurim in the Yeshivah, left the Yeshivah. He impacted all of klal yisrael for the better with his kiruv and hundreds of moving niggunim that will never die, and thousands of Jews are frum because of him today. Could you say that about yourself or anyone else? He also gave millions to tzedakah; completely selfless.
DeleteThere other options then weren't that top, even if he was in that top 5
DeleteThe best bochurim were in BME .Some were in Telz
4:51
Delete& a less than moral crackpot
Why would you promote Shlomo Carl Beck when he was not allowed to step foot in BMG once he left and had his brain fried by lubavitch
ReplyDeleteShlomo came back and sang at the Luria sheva brachos in BMG
DeleteRav Aharon actually begged him to come back
ReplyDeleteWhy mention pinto? He's a fraud who sat in jail for bribery which he admitted to and there are many allegations against him. No gedolim hold of him though those who went to him to receive money (he has access to millions) quickly regretted it.
ReplyDeletePerhaps he begs him to come back to his senses after being polluted by Lubavitch
