- Trump on the potential for Zohran Mamdani to become mayor: "It's going to be hard for me as the president to give a lot of money to New York because if you have a communist running New York, all you're doing is wasting the money you're sending there."

- Voters in Lakewood, New Jersey, cast over 20,000 early ballots on the final day of in-person voting, surpassing 2021 gubernatorial turnout, driven by strong support from the Orthodox Jewish community for Republican Jack Ciattarelli.  President Trump urged Lakewood voters to deliver big numbers for Ciattarelli in the closely contested race set for November 4.

- Conflicting Reports on Satmar Endorsement in NYC Mayoral Race

Conflicting reports have emerged regarding whom the Satmar Ahronim sect is endorsing in the New York City mayoral election.

Earlier reports indicated that the Satmar Ahronim community in Williamsburg had endorsed Zohran Mamdani for mayor after Mamdani met and shook hands with Rabbi Moshe Indig, a prominent political figure within the sect.

However, a subsequent statement released by the Board of Directors of the Satmar community, which follows Harav Aharon Teitelbaum shlita, formally endorsed Andrew Cuomo for mayor on Sunday.

Sources told Belaaz news that the earlier endorsement of Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani by Rabbi Moshe Indig was unauthorized and issued without approval from community leadership.

Today is the final day of early voting in New Jersey. Polls are open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 20 minute lines at town hall in Lakewood 

You can vote at any location in the county

So far, 1.1 million voters have cast ballots statewide 567,643 by mail and 510,937 in person. Democrats hold a D+245,831 advantage among returned ballots, while 204,577 ballots have been cast by unaffiliated voters.

A federal court has given the government a choice: make full payments by Monday or partial payments by Wednesday to prevent hardship among low-income Americans. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that food benefits could begin flowing by Wednesday.

- Keren Olam HaTorah Event in Switzerland

Ahead of the Keren Olam HaTorah fundraising event in Switzerland, local rabbanim expressed concern that donations to the Keren might detract from local mosdos.

In response, Rav Moshe Hillel Hirsch wrote a letter emphasizing that support for the Keren must not come at the expense of local institutions:

“The donations to the keren olam HaTorah Fund will not come from the usual tzedaka funds, but will be added to the many other charitable works that you already do. First, make sure that nothing is lacking for the needs of Zurich, and only then add to the Torah of the Land of Israel.”

Rebbetzin Wasserman was the eishes chaver of YBL"C Harav Yitzchak Wasserman shlit”a, Rosh yeshiva Toras Chaim Denver talmid of Rav Aharon Kotler zt”l, and the daughter of R’ Moshe Shimon Bayarsky z”l of Baltimore.

Levaya will take place this morning in Denver yeshiva with kevura to take place in Lakewood 

- Satmar  Rebbe Rav Aron visited the Otisville Correctional Facility in Orange County, meeting with the warden, chaplains, and administrators to discuss important community and spiritual initiatives

- Giyus: Draft Law Postponed Again

Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has once again delayed progress on the contentious draft law, instructing Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee Chairman Boaz Bismuth to cancel the upcoming session originally scheduled for Monday.

A coalition source said the recent chareidi demonstration prompted concerns about a “public storm” if the law advanced now.

Politics  NJ Governor’s Race

Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop posted on X (Nov. 1): “NJ may actually have an upset. This is probably great news for Jack’s team as we are a society that likes underdogs and comebacks by nature. This is likely the last public poll.”

He added that according to the 2025 update of pollster ratings by Silver Bulletin (affiliated with Nate Silver’s team), AtlasIntel received an A+ rating and ranked #1 in overall pollster quality for the 2024 election cycle.

Congratulations to Stan Kasten, president and part-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, on winning the 2025 World Series.

- Curtis Sliwa Visits the Ohel

Guardian Angels founder and NYC mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa shared that his connection to the Lubavitcher Rebbe began during the Crown Heights riots, when the Rebbe gave him two dollars for charity and a blessing — one he says saved his life during a shooting.

Sliwa visited the Ohel, the Rebbe’s resting place, this weekend, saying he prayed “for strength, wisdom, and the blessing to finish this journey in a meaningful way.”

Brick Township Incident

A 20-year-old Brick Township woman, Marlene Rodriguez, has been charged with attempted murder, child endangerment, and weapons offenses after allegedly stabbing her two-year-old brother in the chest on Saturday, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.
