Whispering Pines Bus stops were Moved to Squankum Rd
Whispering Pines Residents, in Lakewood were surprised to learn the school buses will not be going into the development at all. The LSTA made the official bus stop on Squankum Rd, some stops were across Squankum rd. Residents reached out to the LSTA and the bus companies about the danger of hundreds of kids waiting on Squankum rd. It was decided the buses will indeed go into whispering pines and the stops will be by the Playground area. Residents are asked to cooperate with parking issues so the buses could go through. Parking rules will be strictly enforced. As of this week some buses refused to enter and only stopped on Squankum road.

Cam someone tell us w.. is going on with the busses they are not showing up
ReplyDeleteLakewood politics at it's finest. Shame on the lsta.
ReplyDeleteThis happens ever year for the first week. You are not dealing with the most sophisticated drivers. The first few days to a week ,until they learn their routes ,it takes them much, longer per route. Therefore the buses are on the road much longer and there is gridlock during pick up and dismissal time.
ReplyDeleteUmm anyone who ever drove into wispering pines, understands why a bus wouldn't go in. A bike hardly fits in, and that's without kids running around
ReplyDeleteCome on let's be honbest if u would be a busdriver u wouldn't want to go in whispering pines either...the developer got the house in there like sardines..
ReplyDeleteThis shows the hypocrisy and favoritism of the lsta. Westgate even one way is hard to drive but some well connected got their way and had their own bus stop.In whispering pines not so well connected the kids were placed outside waiting on squankum in great danger.
ReplyDeleteThis I should all over Lakewood. Bus stops were switched to rt 9... where is dangerous for little kids to wait
ReplyDeleteSome developments near Route 9 got their bus show ON ROUTE 9. Squankum is good compared to that.

ReplyDeleteJust wanted to post and i here and see if anyone else is having issues with busing. My 2nd grade 7 year old son came home last night at 5:45 pm, his school gets out at 4pm. the bus company doesn't even start the route till 4:20. that is more than a 9 hour day for a 7 year old kid, cruel and unusual punishment.
My other sons Yeshiva, which is about 1.5 miles away, has pickup at 7:15 Shachris starts at 8:00 (there is no traffic at that time in Lakewood)I paid the money because I am within 2 miles, but my son doesn't take the bus, it is really ridiculous for him to be dropped off a half hour before shachris starts, no one else takes the bus either.
I don't know if these 2 routes are unique, or if this is a more widespread problem. I am assuming the latter, but it seems insane that LSTA is bidding unusable routes with empty busses. Why would they do this? So they can advertise that 99% of children have busing? So they can make some bus companies money?
Welcome to 2017. You don't have to do anything. Just pay a PR firm to post articles that everything is ok. I spoke with many people and not one said they were happy with busses
DeleteSo why Publish a story in the voice how everyone is happy??? Why not wait till Chanukah then we will see what is going on.
At least the trains(between WP and the Villas)are running on schedule.
