Why is it so expensive? They just had a melava malka 3 weeks ago they charged $12 now $15 for this and on top of that there is a membership fee of $30. The membership should cover the cost of the event.
I was also told that even the choir has to pay admission. How ridiculous! Parents need to bring the kids to practices etc. then pay admission on top. Crazy
Bnos only charges $10 thats it why is pirchei so expensive? A family with 4-5 boys get no discount. People are struggling at least for the children entertainment should be affordable.
Berel i hope your not in the chinuch profession it's simply not an option to tell your children not to go to the pirchei extravaganza. The pirchei programs and events have been active in many frum communities it unifies all boys and girls. The fact that lkwd is huge does not minimize from the importance of pirchei. It's something that all the friends in his or her class are going to. This is more of a reason that it should be affordable but to say that no one is forcing you to go is plain ignorance.

ReplyDeleteI think Pirchei in Passaic and Monsey don't charge as much.
ReplyDeleteReach out to Agudah of NJ perhaps they can help out.
ReplyDeleteI don't get what anyone is kvetching about. They aren't forcing you to send your children or claiming to be making this as a public service.
