- President Trump is expected to announce the "HEALTHCARE PRICE CUTS ACT" as soon as TOMORROW to fix the broken Obamacare subsidy system that gives billions to Big Insurance. The bill would halt Obamacare premium spikes. The plan reportedly includes a DEPOSIT mechanism, putting money into a Health Savings Account, incentivizing lower-premium options. It would also end the premium hikes, end zero-premium subsidies, and STOP massive fraud known as "ghost beneficiaries."
- Trump The Republican Party has never been so UNITED AS IT iS RIGHT NOW! Other than Rand Paul, Rand Paul Jr.(Massie!), Marjorie “Traitor” Brown, and a couple of other “lowlifes,” and other than the fact that many want the Election threatening Filibuster TERMINATED (the Dems will do it in the first minute of their first chance!), and some don’t, there is great spirit and cohesion - Plus, the Republican Party is MUCH BIGGER than it was when I announced in 2015 or, ever was before - Many Millions More Members! We now have the Strongest Border EVER, Biggest Tax Cuts, the Best Economy, Highest Stock Market in USA History, and sooo much more. BUT, THE BEST IS YET TO COME! VOTE REPUBLICAN!!!

- Mir Yerushalayim Yeshiva Yarchei kallah gets underway today in Eretz Yisroel
- A number of yeshivos in the tri-state area are adjusting their academic calendars, ending the current school year earlier and starting the next one in mid-August rather than the traditional later date. This trend, seen across various types of mosdos, stems from logistical factors, curriculum considerations, and input from parents and administrators. Yeshiva Orchos Chaim in Lakewood is one example, announcing that this year’s term will end on July 9th (כ״ד תמוז) and the new school year will begin on August 19th (י׳ אלול), a notably earlier start than in past years. Families were asked to note the updated dates and plan their summers accordingly.(Matzav)
- Audio: Divrei zikaron from Rav Baruch Ber Yoffee shlita said last night in BMG on the Yartzeit melava Malka for Rav Aharon Kotler and Rav Nosson Wachtfogel zatzal
- Trump: The War between Russia and Ukraine is a violent and terrible one that, with strong and proper U.S. and Ukrainian LEADERSHIP, would have NEVER HAPPENED. It began long before I took office for a Second Term, during the Sleepy Joe Biden Administration, and has only gotten worse. If the 2020 Presidential Election was not RIGGED & STOLEN, the only thing the Radical Left Democrats are good at doing, there would be no Ukraine/Russia War, as there wasn’t, not even a mention, during my first Term in Office. Putin would never have attacked! It was only when he saw Sleepy Joe in action that he said, “Now is my chance!” The rest is history, and so it continues. I INHERITED A WAR THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED, A WAR THAT IS A LOSER FOR EVERYONE, ESPECIALLY THE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE SO NEEDLESSLY DIED. UKRAINE “LEADERSHIP” HAS EXPRESSED ZERO GRATITUDE FOR OUR EFFORTS, AND EUROPE CONTINUES TO BUY OIL FROM RUSSIA. THE USA CONTINUES TO SELL MASSIVE $AMOUNTS OF WEAPONS TO NATO, FOR DISTRIBUTION TO UKRAINE (CROOKED JOE GAVE EVERYTHING, FREE, FREE, FREE, INCLUDING “BIG” MONEY!). GOD BLESS ALL THE LIVES THAT HAVE BEEN LOST IN THE HUMAN CATASTROPHE! President DJT
- Video: Rav Uri Deutch Rav of Forest Park shul in Lakewood speaking at the Torah Umesorah convention explains how AI is meant to free us up to be more creative and do the Ratzon Hashem as there's no need to do the research that the computers can do now.

ReplyDeleteI’m sure many menahalim, menahalos, mechanchim, and current teachers will find Rabbi Deutsch’s recommendation difficult, but the reality is that the curriculum in today’s girls’ schools is outdated, too narrow, and designed for a small group of students who thrive on memorization and recital. Everyone else is left behind.
ReplyDeleteOur daughters deserve real, practical knowledge: genuine Yiddishkeit, real hashkafa, and a curriculum that teaches, not just tests.
We need a professionally developed, unified curriculum that can be used across all schools so teachers aren’t forced to create their own materials, which are often subpar and sometimes written so poorly, language wise, that as a fluent Hebrew speaker I struggle to understand what’s being said. Some of the worksheets that come home are honestly embarrassing.
A proper, well-constructed curriculum will make things easier for teachers, giving them structure and clarity, and far better for students, who will finally receive a meaningful, accurate, and well-written education, not just something geared toward a narrow sliver of learners.
The reason girls need to learn Ramban and other Seforim from the source is because there is no bite-size hashkafa system. If a person learns his hashkafa from newspaper articles, she will never appreciate and internalize the beliefs and issues. Her Yiddishkeit will be superficial, and when the wind blows, she will not know how to stand strong and fight the waves of the outside world.
ReplyDeleteRabbi Deutch's mashal is perfect. AI is an example of simpleminded half knowledge, which prevents a person from reaching in-depth facts.
Girls' minds need stimulation, we can't have them searching elsewhere.
I wholeheartedly agree. However, the manner in which these mefarshim are being taught prioritizes memorization above both skill and content knowledge. And this is due to inadequate teacher training and curriculum development.
DeleteA proper curriculum must emphasize meaning, depth, and skill-building, not just information to memorize. When teaching leans too heavily on memorization, students end up knowing facts instead of understanding Torah.
ReplyDeleteMemorization creates short-term recall without real comprehension. A student may be able to recite facts or mefarshim, but that doesn’t mean she understands what they mean, why they matter, or how they connect to real Yiddishkeit.
This type of teaching also requires that the teachers themselves have a real understanding of and connection to the material they are presenting. And that may be the real issue. Without proper training and deep familiarity with the subject matter, teachers naturally fall back on worksheets and memorization because it feels safer and easier than teaching depth, context, and meaning. But that approach cannot produce genuine learning.
TU, you have a mission!!
It’s difficult to understand exactly what Rav Uri Deutsch is saying. It almost sounds like he’s dismissing the entire mesorah of ameilus in the yeshivos, and also criticizing the whole curriculum in girls’ schools and Bais Yaakov.
ReplyDeleteOn top of that, AI has definitely caused many people to stop using their brains and to avoid real learning or thinking.
So there’s a lot to unpack and interpret from this clip unless there’s more context or background that we’re missing.
"AI has definitely caused many people to stop using their brains and to avoid real learning or thinking."
DeleteAre you for real? stop regurgitating what someone said think for yourself - and you know its not true! Did the ATM machine replace the bank employees? I believe he said the mesorah (is to adapt it was done with dikduk)? Mesorah is to learn in yiddish but R Shmuel called it a waste of time! Most kashrus agencies wont rely on the mesorah way to do kashrus.. I dont know when we do away with mesorah but there are definitely plenty of instances where we veered..
A unified curriculum would be beneficial for mediocre and subpar educators in the shorter term. The problem would be it would stifle the creativity/originality of better teachers that we have in the longer term. Same as what happens in other fields.
DeleteWhy is the amount of girls remaining single not the most important topic of this convention? Is it not the most important problem facing klal yisroel?
ReplyDeleteThe very first step of being creative is being able to process information it's not important on which information you learn how to process and practice that skill but you need to learn to process an immense amount of information in order to be creative. Not much has changed with AI the fact that much information is available at the fingertips in a way make it much harder because you need to Wade through oceans of information which are completely irrelevant to what you should be focusing on. now more than ever you need to have the skill of how to process information.
ReplyDeleteIt's not important what our students want which is important, it is what our students need! They do not have The life's experience to know which skills are important for them to succeed in life. Simply said they don't get a vote.
It's possible not all which is taught is for the sake of chinuch and yiraas shomayim. It's possible that the benefit is, that most men don't want to marry dumb women despite the obvious benefits. Most men would prefer women who can actually read a long paragraph and process the information without too much difficulty. Some food for thought or you can ask AI I think it will agree.....
ReplyDeleteAt the TU convention Rav Uri, Rabbi Bender, Rabbi Eichenstei, Rav Dovid Goldberg and Rabbi Ephraim Wachsman, all touched on the nisayon of kids calling and texting AI. Rav Ephraim wachsman dedicated his Friday night one speech to this. Highlighting that if we are not machshiv something, hashem takes it away.
ReplyDeleteThere was also a handout from lonu Ulvonainu (Rabbi Y Kaufman) explaining the available options to deal with this.
I don't know if my sons' school is planning on the above calendar change, but it would be really stressful for me to have so many weeks in which my girls are off while my boys have school - requiring me to both maintain a school routine while simultaneously occupying the girls who are on vacation.
ReplyDeleteStress can be harmful to your health.
DeleteYou should make sure to get yourself a hot stone massage and have a comfortable vacation.
Your children need a stress free parent.
The boys school schedule is clearly delineated in halacha, It is quite peculiar that it is not even mentioned as an afterthought....
ReplyDeleteThere is no mesorah for girls schools. No such thing in the Alte Heim
ReplyDeleteEven the Sarah Schnierer schools were a minority, did not exist in the shtetlech, just in big cities.
None in RadIn (CC specifically forbade it in Radin, he didn't mind in Krakow), none in Slabodka, none in Brisk, none in the Mir.
Keep this up, and the next thing will be a shidduch crisis. (Oh, you already have one.)
Are you suggesting that if there were no girl schools we wouldn't have a shidduch crisis? What's the shaychus?
DeleteFrankfurt had a large girls school since 1853.
DeleteWurzburg had one since 1890s.
Telz had Yavne, Kovno too.
A member of the hanhala in Radin attended Sara Schenirer's place in Krakow.
"did not exist in the shtetlech" Yes, may surprise some of you but it was a bit of a snobby system. That is what you prefer?
DeleteSara Schenirer believed a high level synthesis of girls education (not artwork, naarishkeit, & songs, as practiced already before her arrival) would be the preferred way to preserve Jewish society.
DeleteJudging from my experience of the disinterest /disinclination of so many girls & their families [majority in some communities], might it be she was mistaken??
I am 1:57.
DeleteI purposely did not include Telz's Yavneh system
Frankfurt and Germany in general were different. If you want to follow their system, send your boys to college, too.
Sarah Schnierer curriculum included college-level courses. Would that be allowed in Lakewood or in any of the Bais Yaakovs today?
Hungary was also different. My mother went to Hungarian public schools, as did ALL other Jewish girls, including the rav's daughters. They even had classes on Shabbat, with official permission not to have to write, or other melachot. In oberlander communities.
I don't know about Frankfurt. RSRH couldn't get overnment permission for his austritt gemeinde for decades, later 1870 or even 1880s.
DeleteAnd his gemeinde was never big till his grandchildren (and grandchildren-in-law) came to America and finagled Agudah to support them.
For history of BY and SS read Hillel Seidman's daughter's book. Although she writes very highly of the BY system which she attended (even though ...).
DeleteI remember her from BP.
Austritt permission has no relevance. It so happens was granted in 1876
Delete"Sarah S curriculum included" Using a forked tongue.Your challenge then is to raise up the current level or conversely to lower it?
Yes, 1876 (thank you Rabbi Google). So he couldn't open a separate school for them till then, and he didn't have too many talmidot. Took a while to build it up.
DeleteFor the boys he established a Yeshiva, and integrated a college curriculum, though they all went to colleges anyway.
The Sarah Schnierer (Poland) curriculum was basically a college preparatory curriculum. Would not fly in Lakewood (or in most BY schools) (though I'd prefer ALL schools, boys and girls, aim for such a program.)
Enough of this BTL baloney (that's just a money scam on US taxpayers.). And same for those BYs that partner with obscure out of state universities to offer mediocre university non-liberal-arts education. (Even YU had to drop them.)
Your ignorance is appalling He opened his school in 1853.For both genders but separate His institutions were all up & running way before Austritt- which just confirmed his avowed independence.
DeleteAs for your current issues by & large we won't disagree.
Austritt & that what it Represented i.e distance from/yet no-holds- barred combat against heresy or any sniff of immorality wherever it were to be found
Delete[ eg substacks ; blogs in our parlance], was paramount for him. It superseded everything else.
Although he preferred if it would go hand in hand with University, Bildung, Mensch Yisroel, propriety ,Hoch Kultur

ReplyDeletetypo-a daughter- of a member.She left a diary.
There were many other examples in the alte heim
even- shockingly- girl cheders in parts of Russia in the 1890s
