The following statement was issued by the Mayor of Lakewood, NJ:
“It is with much sadness I regret to inform you of the sudden passing of Lakewood police officer Craig Lawson, badge number 355. He was the son of our beloved former chief of police and dear friend, Rob Lawson. “Craig was a rising star and he will be sorely missed. The Lawson family asks for the privacy while they grieve, but on behalf of Lakewood Township, I ask of you to have the Lawson family in your hearts and prayers during this trying time."
