  1. You will never believe it.... We are staying home for Shabbos Nachamu! Can you imagine the embarrassment? We will have to sleep in our own comfortable beds, eat our own delicious meals and spend time in our own cozy home with our own adorable family. Please don't tell anyone though, I'm worried it'll make us look bad for shidduchim and all...

But really, why is it that everyone feels the need to go away shabbos Nachamu? They are willing to shlep their entire house, drive a few hours with kvetchy kids, just to be in a who- knows -what- condition hotel, in uncomfortable beds, with the whole family in one cramped room all shabbos long, just to be able to say they did something?? There have been countless threads recently asking for ideas of where to go... Just curious what everyone's reasoning is?

Are you staying home and want to feel like you went 'away'?

Put the cholent in a disposable pan and plug the hot plate in you bedroom and eat the dry-burnt cholent on the couch.

  2. Or Shabbos Nachmi as the Chasidim advertised in the Lakewood magazines

  3. I know! Omg so true!
Why do people ever want to get away?
And all the balony about change of scenery, please!
Yeh and going to family. Who needs family?
And the whole concept of vacation. Its fake!
Who needs any of these things when you have your our own comfortable bed, your own delicious meals and your own cozy home with our own adorable family.
The key word is "your own". If you have that, thats all you need!
(Hmmm, or maybe thats all you have...)

    1. I just thought of this novel concept. Someone who likes staying home, should do just that. Someone who likes going away, should do just that.
(And someone who only likes staying home in order to be able to disparage those who go away, should do just that.)

  4. wherever you go or don't go, the Kumzits is great entertainment. Hartzig, genuine and uplifting Yiddishe music. Truly a Nachamu experience.
