ADL gets involved

Florham Park, NJ, March 3, 2016 … The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today strongly condemned the anti-Semitic vandalism discovered at Ridgewood Park in Toms River, NJ calling it a “reprehensible display of hate.” The words “Burn the Jews” and other obscene words were discovered on March 1 scratched into playground equipment at the Riverwood Rodeo playground at Riverwood Park.
“This reprehensible display of hate is a sobering reminder that anti-Semitism has the potential to rear its ugly head, and that New Jersey towns and cities are not immune to anti-Jewish animus,” said Joshua Cohen, ADL New Jersey Regional Director. “We applaud the Toms River Police Department for addressing this incident with the seriousness and speed that it deserves, and hope that the perpetrators of this anti-Semitic crime will be brought to justice.” ADL regularly assists law enforcement and communities in response to hate related incidents, and has been in contact with the Mayor’s Office and the Toms River Police Department to offer its resources and expertise.
