Ma, I missed the bus

The new agreement will  have many more parents drive their kids to school. The boys bus routes will be starting as early as 7:45 am, many kids will not be ready in time. The fines imposed on the buses if they arrive late will have drivers pressured to move fast thereby not waiting at all for kids to catch the bus. Some 6th & 7th grade boys that have no minyan in school and are expected to daven before will have to get up at 6:45 and be back in time to catch the early bus. Friday schedule means mothers can not go to work they will have to be home for the early dismissal. In NY many schools end at 1:30 pm on Fridays, even in the winter! This deal did not take the parents or children into consideration  the children are used as pawns in a game of power and control.
