The  Torah and yeahiva world and klal yisroel has been  plunged into mourning tonight as the Shocking and tragic news of the  sudden petira of Harav Hagoan  Rav Avrohom Ausband zatzal

Rosh yeshiva of Telz Riverdale who collapsed this evening in yeshiva. He was 76. A marbitz Torah for almost 50 years who, he shelled avek thousands of talmidim and bnei Torah. His father was The Rosh Yeshiva of Telz Cleveland Harav Eizak Ausband zatzal and his mother was the daughter of  Rav Avrohom Yittzchok Bloch Zatzal. He was a son in law by Rav Binyomin Zeilberger ZTL Rosh Yeshivas Bais Hatalmud. He leaves behind a family of talmidei chachomim and Roshei Yeshivos,and thousands of Talmidim.

Levaya will take place tomorrow Friday erev shabbos 10:30am  at the yeshiva in Riverdale 640 w 249th st,  Bronx, NY 10471

 the Aron will be flown motzei shabbos for Kevurah in Eretz Yisroel.

Torah, Torah, Chigri Sak: Upon the Shocking and Untimely Petirah of Hagaon Rav Avrohom Ausband zt”l

It is with profound sadness and deep shock that Agudath Israel of America mourns the sudden petirah of Hagaon Rav Avrohom Ausband zt”l, rosh yeshivah of Yeshivah of Telshe Alumni of Riverdale, NY. Rav Ausband was one of the leading roshei yeshivah in the United States, whose influence shaped the lives of countless talmidim.

As the leader of the prestigious Riverdale Yeshiva, Rav Ausband perpetuated the mesorah of Telz with uncompromising dedication. His shiurim, hadrachah, and leadership raised generations of bnei Torah, instilling in them a deep connection to Torah, yiras Shamayim, and mussar. He was a powerful and eloquent voice in the Torah world, standing as a beacon of wisdom, clarity, and Torah truth.

His passing leaves a gaping void that is felt by the greater Torah community. His passing is a devastating blow, as we grieve the loss of one who embodied the mesorah of Telz and true Torah greatness. His legacy will live on through his talmidim and the yeshivah he built, but his absence will be keenly felt by the thousands impacted by his influence.
