    this will only help us.

  3. Another store is only good when its a community store. When it is, the ones who profit put the money back into the mosdos of their customers, and when their employees too belong to those same mosdos. When your expenses, that becomes someone else's proffit doesn't trickle down and circle back to your interests, you lose. yhink of it as a trade deficit. Vd"l

When that's will be understood, you'll understand where all the complaints in the previous article (rotten at the core) about living expense, tuition, chasusahs. why the frum middle class is suffering financially.

    1. what about the savings it puts into peoples pockets does that not count?
If people will save 30% on their groceries that will mean more money for tuition and more money to spend on other necessities

    2. Look at the bigger picture. This is not a comment about a particular store.

There is nothing wrong with a discount store, discount owners also have a business plan to profit. Low prices isn't the only factor in how the store benefits or affects the area. When money goes in circle it's great, when it goes in one direction only, it's not so good, and has serious long term repercussions to community.

I don't know much about bingo in particular, and this is not a comment about them.

    3. So we should all pay more for groceries, so maybe, the local owners of the store will donate some money to Mosdos? I think you need to think that through again

  4. A store that opens solely based on discount prices usually fails. The ability to get better, innovative, fresher product even if it costs a little more will always win out. Stores that assume that they will have high volume sales based on discounting prices alone are in for a rude awakening. Filling a need is what usually succeeds. Think about the few truly successful restaurants and stores in Lakewood. They all filled a need and are still successful to this day. We all wish Bingo success in this endeavor but there is no need for us to scare the other stores that are, and will continue, fulfilling the needs of Lakewood.

    1. Tell that to Wal-Mart, Costco and even Aldi's. They are all doing quite well

    2. Bingo is doing very very well and is exactly what Lakewood needs. There are many large families here who would benefit from buying cheap in bulk.

It is a Shanda that prices in NPGS, the official Kollel grocery should be more expensive than GG in BP.

    3. They dont have a limited customer base. Aldis Costco and wal amrt make a bulk of their money from their own manufacturing brands. Not comparable at all. I hope for the best for Bingo. I just dont think other groceries need to be scared. They will still be needed

    4. There is a limited market, which is why Bingo is only opening one location in Lakewood. As far as private label, Aldis is majority private label, Wal-Mart has some, but private label doesn't compromise the majority of their products, Costco has no private label products.

Either way, not sure why private label is an issue. Most Kosher Branded products are effectively private label. I don't know a whole lot of people that specifically want Gefen Corn Flakes Crumbs.

Don't know a lot about Bingo, but they are potentially filling a need, for low cost groceries,

  5. GG came here lowered prices (forcing other stores to lower theirs as well) and are doing amazing BH! The need these stores fill is the need for lower prices.

    1. I’m not sure what you are talking about but GG’s regular prices are significantly higher than other stores’. Yes, they sometimes have great (loss-leaders) sales, but, if it’s not on sale, it’s generally cheaper elsewhere.

  6. GG started off with lower prices and great sales to draw the crowd, currently the typical item is more expensive than NPGS by more than a drop.

  7. NPGS raised their prices recently, especially at the seagul square location. Its not a discount store

    1. no worries for bingo, its not their first rodeo

  8. bingo knows what they are doing. its not their first store and its not their first rodeo, all of you saying he will fail. do not know if they will. negativity never wins.

  9. GG still has great sales and thanks to them other stores also have good sales. Before GG came there was no such thing as a sale at npgs or many other Lakewood stores.

  10. Harold not sure what your point is here, it's an obvious fact that a store like bingo will hurt smaller stores. There will still be a need for all groceries but it's indisputable that local stores get hurt when big stores with much more buying power etc open up.

    1. Hashem runs the world. Not profit margins or bulk buying. Gourmet Glatt was doing awful and looked would fail when it first opened. The overhead was astronomical and the amount of groceries fhet needed to sell to cover costs seemed out of reach. But Hashem doesnt care about projections. Their sales suddenly went through the roof and are doing very well. Other stores that seemed to be losing because of their success are also once again doing just fine. Everything comes from upstairs. Hopefully Bingo will do fine and not hurt other stores at all. We need to continue showing our allegiance to our stores while visiting bingo for all the specials and great deals they will bring to Lakewood. I personally cant wait to get that 300 dollar shtreimel.

  11. Seagull square location is for the chassidim so they raised the prices there.

  12. Rightfully so, the chassidim made houses in Lakewood unaffordable.

  13. Those who talk against the chasidim sound no different than the Jackson oilam that talk against the Jews.

  14. Ner Mitzvah?? they plan on being open by Chanukah? doesn't look like that, unless that video is a little old...

  15. A big part of GG success is their location. I can’t see myself driving out to Bingo to save a little bit of money. The people I know value convenience over price (at least to a certain degree) and you can’t compare bingo to Costco etc. Bingo is only catering to the kosher consumer which is only a minute fraction of Costcos etc. business.

  16. Costco has a private label, it's Kirkland.

  17. Nobody said they will fail. I'm sure they will do very well.

  18. Just wait and see bingo will be packed always, guaranteed. People value convenience but you see Costco is always packed wirh yidden. However there is a big difference between Costco and bingo, there are alot of things that you could get in bingo but you can't get in Costco it's a whole different shopping experience. Bingo will do just fine.
