Rav Mattisyahu Solomon delivers pre shavuos drasha in Lakewood Yeshiva
The Lakewood mashgiach, Harav mattisyahu Solomon shlita delivered a mussar shmuez in Bais Medrash Govoha for the upcoming yom tov of Shavuos. This was the first time in a while that the mashgiach has spoken publicly in the yeshiva. May he have a refuah and the strength to give chizuk, guidance and inspire.

The mashgiach shlita has kept us in line, its unfortunate that due to an illness he can not guide us on a daily basis. He would always remind us and constantly bring awareness when the tznius standards in town would go down. Its unfortunately very evident today how tznius standards keep sinking lower and lower. Its hard to walk the streets, go shopping or just to walk outside and not be nichshol from the way women dress today. Skirt length above the knee has become acceptable and its disgusting. Most people are just not aware of halacha, not doing it purposely but have societal pressure to follow the fashion trends. It creates a nisayon and a big michshol. Flare skirts in the wind is a serious breach in tznius but nothing is done to stop it. Lets heed the mashgiach"s constant calls as well as those of the Roshei Yeshiva and Rabbonim to strengthen ourselves and may we merit בזכות נשים צדקניות עתידין להיגאל

ReplyDeleteThe breach in tznius is about us men. We allow our wives and daughters to dress as they please. If we would be makpid then our wives will want to dress accordingly. And this is a issue with benai torah and Yeshiva leit as well
Get your heads out of the gutter! Stop the znius obsession and let the men fight their yetzer hora themselves. See rambam end of issurei biah for timeless tips on how to do it. Hint - it does not include sponsoring kinus klal Yisroel hookups for others, or hanging up signs, putting up mechitzahs on busses or talking arrogantly about others.
ReplyDeleteNo ones head is in the gutter ask the ladies about how woman are walking around the streets today. We are not talking about the chumras of mechitzas on buses but the very basics are being breached. take off your blinders and get your head out of the sand. Its bad out there.
DeleteGet off the internet, that will be a great zchus for the Mashgiach.
