- Nate Silver: Last and final update: 12:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 5. Happy Election Day! At exactly midnight on Tuesday, we ran our simulation model for the final time in this election cycle. Out of 80,000 simulations, Kamala Harris won in 40,012 (50.015%) cases. She did not win in 39,988 simulations (49.985%). Of those, 39,718 were outright wins for Donald Trump and the remainder (270 simulations) were exact 269-269 Electoral College ties: these ties are likely to eventually result in Trump wins in the U.S. House of Representatives.

- Ben Shapiro: Literally the worst case scenario for the country. Why? The 2020 census was wrong, as the Census Bureau has admitted...and it gave extra electoral college votes to blue states. If they'd done it right, Trump would win WITHOUT any of the blue wall states. Get ready for lawsuits.

- Last minute letter issued by lakewood roshei yeshiva in support of incumbent townahip committee members, after 32% of Lakewood  voted already. The letter did not address the taxes they raised, the traffic or the diversion of public funds intended to ease traffic. There was no mention of the Lakewood vaad at all or support of Boe or fire commissionees. Despite no official public acccsess to the committee  members, the letter states they are approachable and greet everyone nicely, as lakewood is growing with over 300 shuls 200 mosdos and 20,000 families. The letter concludes with the importance of participating in elections to help klal Yisrael as previous  gedolim have involved themselves with elections in the US and EY,such as Rav Aharon Kotler, Rav Shach and the chofetz chaim.

- National religious continue campaign  against charedim as  2 knesset members of the far-right Religious Zionism party appear to backtrack after  saying they would not vote for the Daycare Law being pushed by the ultra-Orthodox United Torah Judaism party to preserve subsidies for charedi working mothers.

True of False is it appropriate to distribute VAAD voting material to people waiting online to vote?

True or False did any of federal or state funding intended for taxpayer improvement actually help taxpayers or did it go for Avenue of Americas and the Georgian Court BMG project?

True or false did any of Lakewood taxpayers see a reduction in taxes or tuition because of the last recomendation of the VAAD?

Tru or False did any taxpayer have the ability to attend in person an actual Lakewood Township Committe meeting? (It is virtual, they dont have enough respect for us taxpayers to actually have an in person meeting, most probably the only town in NJ that does this)

It is time for an actual association to represent the taxpayers.

Make you own decisions as who you should vote for on local level. Vote for people who actually care about the taxpayer and the renters. There are choices. Choice wisely.

Rav Shmuel Kamenetzky shlita voting earlier today in Philadelphia. The RY publicly endorsed Donald Trump for president

  1. I voted for vaad and roshei yeshiva , you can never go wrong following daas Torah this isn't a WWII matzav of getting the last train

  2. The 2 guys on the vaad are not daas torah. The roshei yeshiva did not endorse any of the candidates. The 2 incumbent committeemen - which caused so much destruction to our infrastructure and are the reason our property taxes can only be afforded by gevirim like themselves thus forcing the bnei torah to move out of Lakewood - just recycled old letters saying how important it is to vote in general.

Furthermore, the incumbent Board of Ed members have run the district's economic viability into the ground and have forced the taxpayers to borrow almost THREE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS from the State of NJ. The only way to pay this back is by raising our property taxes even more which will result in cascading bankruptcies to thousands of residents across the township. They have refused to use common sense in fixing the root of the problem. They were given the chance to prove themselves, but have instead only exacerbated the problems - much like Kamala Harris has done during her term.

That is why everyone should vote for the new team which includes Schubert, Eisenbach, and Lang which fully support the court process to get the State to finally change the formula and save us all from financial collapse.

  3. The VAAD is sheker they put BOE cadidates as 'mitzav lishmoa divrai chachimim' when nobody endorsed any BOE cadidates. Vote the first three candidates listed.

    1. The VAAD sent everyone a letter a few years ago that they are officially withdrawing themselves from ever endorsing candidates for the Board of Ed. This was after they caused a large public outcry over their terrible recommendations. The roshei yeshiva instructed the vaad to stay completely away from any Board of Ed recommendations.

Therefore, any campaign slogan stating mitzvah lishmo'ah divrei chachamim for the Board of Ed is complete sheker. Do not be fooled. Vote the old chevra out. We need a new team which actually cares about all the town students and their taxpayers.

  5. I didn't see any letter by the Roshei Yeshiva, just a blurred out document that could have said anything, appended to a flyer for the incumbents (that was unsigned and did not declare funding).

  6. It's very disingenuous to put a letter and have the roshei yeshiva ignore the Hezek mammon caused by the incumbents
The millions of hours wasted in traffic how much bittul Torah is that
do the roshei yeshiva not care about that at all
Do the roshei yeshiva not care that youngeleit were forced out of lakewood and can't afford a home
The biggest issue is perhaps there's major negius as public funds that belong to ALL taxpayers in Lakewood have been funneled for cedarbridge and GCU why is that yashrus or Ehrlich would Rav Aaron Kotler ever allowed such tactics in building the Yeshiva by telling politicians to give grants to fix lakewood traffic and using it to build new roadways stuffing 600 apartments

    1. You are a Chuzpanik and a Kofu Tova. This holy town is ALL due to the Yeshiva and its Roshei Yeshiva. You are welcome to take a hike and find another place to live.

    2. This town is due to the Bnei Hayeshiva, they are the ones who built this town, with their learning and willingness to forego luxuries.
Not the office of the Yeshiva and not the owners. The bochurim and yungeleit are the ones who deserve the hakaras hatov. Even though they don't demand it.

  9. One more True or False did the VAAD help in any way Rabbi Eisenman ( A yochid who cares about the rabim) when he was dragged through gehenim for years by the state or there was no benefit for the VAAD so they just left it alone?

    1. I brought it up with them and they were prepared to ask the governor for a pardon or commutation if convicted. It is not like they were not concerned. They were ready to step in if needed. I meet with them so many times concerning my case I can tell you probably more than anyone except the R"Y and R. Weisberg, how they work, or I should say, don't work. The Vaad has no control over the BOE. It is Balsam, Inzelbuch and probably some others who don't want me to know there hand in the fiasco. The Vaad just endorses whomever the school bosses (the three or four of them) endorse. The BOE boss has them in the palm of his hands. Start up with the BOE, if you own a small or medium school, you will be in trouble. Of course it works both ways. The leading school bosses can get rid of the boss of the BOE. I worked for the BOE for 21 years. I don't even want to talk about it. It is a broken record.

It is time that the PEOPLE get rid of the BOE. (BTW, think about it, how is it that the BOE has a boss other than the people?). AL

  10. All this tortured pilpul. Just accept that the rabbonim endorse the Vaad. You're welcome to join the MO if you really have that much of a hard time listening to daas Torah.

  12. There is no Vaad. Its self appointed people manipulating this town for many years. The time has come to get them out and vote others in. We the tax paying citizens of Lakewood will not stand for this any longer. The next guy voted in better do a good job or he'll be going in the same direction.
