Regarding our local elections, why doesn't the "opposition", meaning those who oppose voting in the same people again and again, sent out mailings and robo calls making people aware of the issues? Most people don't read Hefkervelt. We have to make more people aware of the fact that the current leaders have destroyed Lakewood and we have a choice to vote them out. Why isn't there more PR for the "opposition?" Looks like the Sheeple have won again.

DeleteIs there a chance that maybe the answer is that most people think that the current committeemen are doing a great job? They have dedicated their lives to the needs of the tzibur, contrary to the constant criticism from the same few commenters on this blog.
ReplyDeleteWow! The shakranim, who have no examples of their claims, are coming to Hefkervelt too. It seems that the stone has hit its target.
DeleteAre you living under a rock or were you paid off by the corrupt vaad the incumbents have managed to enrich themselves while making life miserable to hundreds of thousands if lakewood residents by running this town to the ground with traffic high taxes and poor quality of life. So what if Meir and Menasha take care if their buddies?
DeleteThey ruined it for everyone else and acted disrespectful over the last 10 years.
Those who voted for them are 诪住讬讬讬注 in the daily 爪注专 that people in Lakewood deal with on a daily basis.
Chazal called out such behavior go read the. 谞讘讬讗 注诪讜住 this disgusting behavior has been done at prior tines in our history.
The stealing of public funds intended to help everyone and used for personal pet projects is something that boggles the mind how the roshei yeshiva allowed it. They must have not been informed about it.
Most people dont think that property taxes going up yearly way more than the average city while being unable to drive to work, a store or babysitter without sitting in gridlock traffic as doing a great job. They just go with the status quo failing to realize that there is anything to do to change it.
Deletewell said. I totally agree.
ReplyDeleteHere is the deal. Michael can always assert privilege so you can never know who he talks to. The bosses are definitely some of the big schools owners. They claim the BOE turf, because after all, they are educating the kids. The R"Y will not go against the mosdos or tell me who speaks for them.
ReplyDeleteNothing has changed. The BOE turned against me in 2014, joined me in 2016, and then turned against me in 2017. How am I supposed to get the job done if even the R"Y can't or won't connect me anyone who can help in the cause (fixing the formula). If the opposition is too scared to step up to the plate and identify themselves, then power returns to its natural source, the people. Pashut. Rabbi Yekusiel Weinstein used to always tell me, you can't go against the rabbim. So thank you for voting for Fixing the Formula. It will be fine. We will try to get the Court to waive the debt but it will be a second victory beyond getting the formula fixed. A L
The logic is that if the funding is unconstitutional enough to get a court order to fix the formula, then that same finding should apply to the loans. However, the state is going to argue harder about the loans than the formula. It is not a given that we win both, although we won't settle unless we get both. Settlement is the surest way to the double victory as in most legal cases. Problem is that we will be in court forever. It would be so much easier if we had the political support. You can't settle a case like ours if your own local leaders oppose. You might see the state forcing us to create our own revenue stream, especially the longer it takes. Don't worry because we will be in court because Lakewood does not have the wealth. I just don't see why the people of Lakewood won't join in the cause that their leaders wanted since 1998 so we can finish the job once and for all. It is so contrary to reason. These same bosses had every opportunity to join and that door has closed, not by me, but by the actions of the BOE when they opposed the court finding that the state is not providing a thorough and efficient education in Lakewood explicitly opposed the court finding of constitutional deprivation in their actual papers. On the good side, the BOE is staying out of the case in the real courts so far and not causing trouble.
DeleteIt is not just Michael. It is the whole establishment. From the beginning Weisberg and Aaron Kotler pleaded with the bosses and their BOE to join up. Aaron even wrote my press release. The turf of the Vaad is the Township. Even the people on the committee will say they have no influence over the BOE. So we are left with a situation of hefker because there is no one that can overrule the bosses and they are adamant to not cooperate. They did not want me to do the case to begin with and begged me to let the BOE lawyer (before Michael) do it. I did not let them because they did not understand the theory of the case and actually lost again in their own case in 2015. t

Trump wins
Was cheating so bad in 2020
For months we have been hearing how the odds favor Trump. When he wins, we are told that 'he defied the odds'. Do they think we are that stupid? Actually, don't answer that one.
ReplyDeleteDuh? Vaad “establishment” candidates win 2 to 1 across all lines and you highlight the loser opposition? Duh?
ReplyDeleteWell it really is the pitz that the Vaad has no control of the BOE (Aaron and Weisberg encouraged me to file the case despite opposition from the school bosses) and the bosses of the schools won't do anything to limit Michael's power, and Michael has been trying to sabotage the cause since 2017. The BOE just sits there and gives him a free hand probably because he gets the bosses whatever they need. He wields unbelievable patronage, I guess, even more powerful that the voice of the people. Or I guess, his patronage and favors to the bosses is desired by the people. I am not going to get into all that blaming the voters of Lakewood today. I am just going to have to keep winning in court and when the funding comes in, or when the bottom of our home value collapses because of the loans, so be it. It would have happened whether I litigated or not. The loans have nothing to do with me. They are all the result of an incompetent BOE that did nothing to get its financial house in order. AL
ReplyDeleteThank you to Avrohom Schubert, Eli Eisenbach and Mordechai Lang for running and sticking your heads out to give the rabim choices. We all know that you had us the taxpayers and all of the average Joes in mind. You are tzadikim and HKB'H yishalem schorom. Much hakoras hatov to Aaron Lang for all that you do for us.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I still say that the BOE election was more important than the presidential election. Sure the 2017 tax increase (for me) will be renewed, but that loss is nothing compared to what might be down the road for Lakewood homeowners and children. I would not be surprised if the state imposes a payroll tax on us to pay back the debt. Not being a sore loser, just warning people that I am not going to do this alone. We need elected officials especially on the BOE that support the cause because there is a political dimension to the matter. AL
ReplyDeleteI stopped reading your comments. Why don't you get your message out to the people through Lakewood Shopper, instead of the few people here on Hefkervelt. Its a waste of time to only write on Hefkervelt. Most people dont read Hefkervelt.
