Matzav.com The annual “Kosher on the Road” barbecue for people traveling between the tri-state area and Cleveland, Detroit, South Bend and Chicago for Yom Tov will be held on Sunday, April 9, at the Flying J station at exit 173 in Lamar, Pennsylvania, off of Interstate 80, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
No reservation is needed. Huge quantities of kosher food will be provided at the site.
The program was conceived several years ago when a local businessman had an idea to help people traveling before Yom Tov, at a time when travelers have cleaned their cars for Pesach. There is not much that one can eat on the road in terms of kosher l’Pesach food, and matzah is not an option during the pre-Pesach days.
People will once again be able to stop and get a complete chometzdike meal, meet fellow travelers, and participate in minyanim for Mincha and Maariv.
The barbecue is fully sponsored and all donations will go to Bikur Cholim of Cleveland.
