Rav Reich spoke privately to his talmidim it was not a public machaah. A public maccha was due by BMG which represents Lakewood, that for some reason did not happen. As far as the apology letter it was merely a clarification but did not undo the damage. Very sad

A group of BMG guys went to LA right after Pesach to discuss his issues with him. Perhaps they spoke on behalf of everyone.
