- SCOTUS has just agreed to hear the case of Daniel Grand, an Orthodox Jew forbidden from holding a Sabbath prayer meeting in his Ohio home without a “special use permit.” City officials later harassed him and encouraged neighbors to watch his home for signs of religious activity

- Israeli police arrested a American Yeshiva bochur in his Dira at the  Bar Ilan area for protesting against the light rail construction site in Yerushalayim. There  are hafganos following the arrest.

- President Donald J. Trump announced that the Republican Party will hold what he calls its first-ever midterm convention in Dallas on September 9–10. He says the event will celebrate his administration's policies and achievements, feature speeches and entertainment, and serve as a major rally ahead of America's 250th anniversary.

- LPD Traffic Alert: Tonight 630 The Townships's contractor will be performing intersection improvements at Carey Street and Forest Avenue starting at 10:00 PM. During construction, the intersection will be closed to through traffic. A detour will direct motorists to use Route 9 between 14th Street and 9th Street. Forest Avenue between 14th Street and 9th Street will remain open to local traffic and residents only. Residents shall access their homes from the side of Carey Street on which their residence is located

- LGBT toeiva bill Passed by the Assembly (55-23-0) with two not voting

Assemblyman Avi Schnall voted against the bill A2218 , after consulting with the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of America according to a press release sent to  frum media outlets. The official voting roll  callbhas not yet  beeen published.

Critics argued the bill is broad enough to potentially expose religious leaders, faith-based organizations, counselors, and others to legal consequences for expressing or acting on sincerely held beliefs regarding abortion or gender-transition procedures.

- Yeshivos and businesses in New Jersey will now have ro pay hundreds of thousands of dollars per year

The New Jersey Assembly has passed A-5324, which would require certain employers to pay an annual fee for employees and their dependents who receive health insurance through the State Medicaid program. For employers with 500 or more employees, the fee would be $725 per covered individual. For example, if a business or yeshiva with 500 or more employees has 200 employees enrolled in Medicaid (with no covered dependents), it would owe $145,000 annually under the bill.

- Trump officially declares a power emergency for the nation’s largest grid ahead of an extreme heat wave.

- The CDC is investigating a multistate outbreak of Cyclospora infections after 145 people across 20 states, including New Jersey and New York, became ill between May and mid-June. Twenty people have been hospitalized, though no deaths have been reported.

The parasite can cause explosive watery diarrhea, stomach cramps, nausea, fatigue, and other intestinal symptoms. Health officials say most cases can be treated with antibiotics, and they continue to investigate the source of the outbreak.

- A New Jersey middle school has recalled its yearbooks after a childhood photo of Adolf Hitler was discovered in the "baby pictures" section. East Brook Middle School in Paramus launched an investigation into how the image was included. Principal Ryan Aupperlee directed families to return all yearbooks immediately after the error was discovered to prevent further distribution.

- By a 48-22 vote, the New Jersey Assembly approved the new fee on businesses and organizations in the state that employ more than 50 people on Medicaid. 

Assemblymen Avi Schnall and Gary Schaer voted yes in committee  yesterday.

The bill now moves to the Senate, which is expected to vote on the measure later this evening. employers with between 50 and 250 employees on Medicaid will pay $325 annually per employee and each dependant, between 250 and 500 employees will pay $525, and $725 for every employee over 500.

- The New Jersey Assembly has passed A4085 by a 50-21 vote. Republicans opposed the bill, arguing it could lead retailers to eliminate customer loyalty programs, such as ShopRite's Price Plus card, because of new restrictions on the use of consumer data for discounts. Supporters of the legislation dispute that claim, saying the bill strengthens consumer privacy protections without ending loyalty programs

- Knesset House Committee votes 10-4 to advance a proposed Basic Law declaring Torah study a foundational value of the State of Israel.

Promoted by the ultra-Orthodox parties, the legislation is intended to shield draft evaders from sanctions and prosecution. Absent a constitution, Basic Laws in Israel have the highest legal status in the country.

With a change in routine today and schedule especially with hot weather It’s important to keep the safeguards and implement reminders not to forget a child in the car. A good deterrent is for the Morah to call after a pre set time if the baby does not come after 10:15 am. It should be mandatory to take attendance each morning and call both parents if baby or child is not there by 10:30.

- The Supreme Court just handed states a major victory in one of the country's most closely watched culture battles: protecting girls' and women's sports. In a 6-3 ruling along ideological lines, the court upheld laws in Idaho and West Virginia banning transgender students from competing in women's and girls' school sports.

- Mir Yerushalayim has received approval from the Jerusalem Municipality for a major expansion of its current campus. The project will connect existing buildings with bridges and walkways, replace older structures, and utilize nearby properties acquired by the yeshiva. Once completed, the expanded campus is expected to accommodate approximately 10,000 talmidim.

- The New Jersey Assembly is expected to vote today on A2218/S2260, a pro Toeiva bill expanding legal protections for reproductive health care services. The legislation would make it a fourth-degree crime to interfere with access to clinics or hospitals and would prohibit insurers from denying or limiting coverage for abortion and gender-transition services. With the vote approaching, many in the Lakewood area are watching to see how the frum legislators vote.

- A proposed mosque in Marlboro, NJ has been unanimously rejected by the township's zoning board after a nearly five-year approval process.The application for a mosque at 449 Tennent Road was denied on June 23. Attorneys representing the developer criticized the decision, alleging the review process was marked by hostility and infringed on their client's religious rights. They announced plans to file a lawsuit challenging the board's decision.

- Rep. Thomas Kean Jr. disclosed Tuesday that he has spent the last several months hospitalized for depression, revealing for the first time why the two-term New Jersey Republican has not cast a vote in Congress since March.
