Israel at war day 491
News over shabbos
- 3 Israeli hostages were released as part of the Gaza deal - in very poor physical condition
- Ex-hostage Eli Sharabi learned of wife, daughters' October 7 murders upon release
Sharabi told Israeli forces he was looking forward to reuniting with his wife and daughters, unaware of their tragic fate for 491 days that they were murdered in their home on Oct 7th in kibbutz Beeri. Furthermore, Hamas informed Sharabi of the death of his brother, Yossi, as he was being paraded on stage in Deir el-Baleh in central Gaza. His brother’s body is still being held in Gaza.
- The IDF will fully withdraw from the Netzarim Axis tommorow morning
- The hostages spoke of being starved: "We were constantly hungry." Some of the hostages released today have gone down 3-5 sizes
The three hostages freed by Hamas on Saturday — Eli Sharabi, 52, Or Levy, 34, and Ohad Ben Ami, 56 — looked emaciated and unsteady on their feet as they were released by Hamas 16 months after they were kidnapped from Kibbutz Be’eri and the Nova music festival.
- The three hostages were moved by Hams terrorists from place to place during their captivity. Many places. They were held in underground tunnels and hardly saw daylight. They spoke of harsh conditions, such as lack of air and light, and inhumane conditions. One of the hostages said: "Staying underground was horrifying; I didn't think I would ever get out of here."
-Ministers call to destroy Hamas after hostages return looking like ‘Holocaust survivors’
- Israel leaders called out the international media lies about starving gazans while it was the hostages who were starved and tortured while the terrorists look fat and fed.
- PM Netanyahu: Or, Eli and Ohad returned home today.
Sara and I hug them, and their preciousfamilies. We have seen again what the monsters of Hamas are. These are the same monsters who slaughtered our citizens and abused our hostages. And I tell them again: their blood is on their heads. We will do everything to return all our hostages. We will ensure their safety. This is the instruction I gave to the delegation - to tell the mediators this, and to demand it.
But beyond that, President Trump completely agreed with me: we will do everything to return all the hostages, but Hams will not be there.
We will eliminate Hamas, and we will return our hostages.
- Hostage Or Levy was hugged his 3-year old son for the first time in almsot 500 days. Or's wife was killed on 10/7.
-Lebanon forms a government - Hezbollah & Amal take 5 important ministerial positions
- One of the hostages was greeted by his brother in law wearing a talis and he said jrias shema upon meeting him for the first time.
- Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar also denounced the international community for having accused Israel of starving Gaza’s population during the war, with the minister saying Hamas fighters and Palestinians civilians “look excellent” while the Israeli hostages emerged gaunt and frail. “For over a year, the international community danced to the false tunes of the so-called starvation in Gaza propaganda, but the pictures don’t lie,” said Sa’ar. “The Hamas terrorists and the Gaza residents look excellent. The Israeli hostages look like Holocaust survivors, and they are the only ones in the pictures who look like they have clearly suffered from malnutrition,” the foreign minister said, accusing Hamas of “committing crimes against humanity” in its treatment of the hostages.
“The Hamas-Nazi evil must be eradicated,” Sa’ar added.
All the pictures of returning hostages were taken on Shabbos. I hope frum people have sensitivities and don't use those pictures and videos that were taken with chillul shabbos. Oh right, that train has long left the station.
ReplyDeleteRav Asher Weiss said its muttar to view those pictures and videos.
DeleteAnother kula
DeleteThe hostages were taken on shabbos while desecrating it among much more.
ReplyDeleteWhat toeles do you think there is in your comment?
DeleteI'm sure Hashem's love for you has increased for that comment about His other children. Well done. A few more yidden like you and we'll get our Bais Hamikdosh back in no time.
DeleteBack in the early 70s terrorists on a boat shot and killed some people on an Israeli beach one Shabbos. Someone commented in front of Rav Moshe Feinstein that had they not been Mechalal Shabbos nothing would have happened to them. Rav Moshe got visibly upset and said “when Yidden are in Tzaar we don’t talk this way about them!” (Darkei Moshe by R’ Shachna Scheiner)
DeleteNow that the tzaar is over, let's hear your daas Torah and chizuk . Hashgacha Pratis, midah kneged midah or whatever yad hashem, you see fit.
DeleteReb Mosheh writes in a teshuvah that he never read the news, or anything not Torah , that's how HE has clarity
@6:29: anon 7:49 seems to be a reply to anon 5:30
DeleteRav Moshe wrote he has no secular EDUCATION so his haskafa is only based on Torah sources. He never said he doesn't read the news. He did nominally follow it. There is even a picture of him glancing at a Yiddish newspaper. (he is reading it on vacation, standing up and clearly not spending more than a few minutes on it.) Rav Moshe never would have been on hefkervelt. No one who comes here can say he only has Torah haskafa
DeleteYes, but he made decisions relying on those who supplied him news & commentary. & those types would have used hefkervelt :)) had it been around then - or worse
Deleteiirc His close colleagues were better versed in the outside world & unabashed about it
His point is His hashkafos and mindset were not based on anything other than Torah.
DeleteFacts were brought to him, what to do, say etc. was solely based on the Torah, thereby not l'chumrah or l'kulah or feelings were included in his decision makings.
Any one if true can say he is quoting Torah hashkafah, no one should say his own hashkafos
DeleteI’m really sorry to say this. But - your train left the station a long time ago.
ReplyDeleteThe frum media is trash there's no reason to look at it any more that the secular media
ReplyDeleteSo why are you here?
DeleteBut to those who still compared today the treatment by Hamas of our hostages with the Holocaust and seek to make us surrender to Hamas because of it, I have a question: Would you have signed a deal with Hitler that leaves the Nazis in power and allows them to prepare for the next Holocaust? Of course not. And that's why there will be no deal that leaves Hamas in power and allows it to plan the next October 7th. Absolutely not," he stated.
ReplyDeleteI'm not commenting on this deal at all but say in 1944 or earlier Hitler would have agreed to stop the holocaust on the condition that he remains in power. It would have been a deal to take with both hands.
DeleteThat is debatable
DeleteCouldn't be trusted. Ribbentrop treaty, for example.
ReplyDelete& basis for demand of Unconditional Surrender.
DeleteNow extrapolate.
