- Drivers who speed in construction zones on the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge and other MTA crossings could face fines starting today Tuesday. The MTA announced it will begin fining motorists caught going 10 miles per hour over posted limits in construction zones on the bridges and tunnels the agency operates. - Dozens of flights into and out of Newark Liberty International Airport were cancelled on Tuesday, a day after a construction crew accidentally cut a fiber line. - Lakewood Police Investigate Shots-Fired Incident Lakewood Police are investigating after a driver reported that someone inside a passing vehicle fired a shot toward his vehicle late Monday night.

At about 11:00 p.m. on September 21, officers responded to a residence on Massachusetts Avenue following a report of gunfire on Sunset Road. The driver told police that he was following a white four-door sedan when an occupant fired a single round toward his vehicle.

Police said the sedan was believed to have been stolen in Lakewood earlier that evening. Authorities later received information that a vehicle matching the same description was reportedly involved in another shots-fired incident in Howell.
