Israel News Monday Nov 17

Day 774

- The UN Security Council passed the US proposal for Gaza by a majority of 14 countries, with no opposition. Measure calls for deployment of international force in Gaza, path to a future Palestinian state

- The US sent a message to the mediating countries, as well as to the countries expected to be part of the international shaping force in Gaza (ISF), that it will allow Israel to renew the war in Gaza if Hamas does not disarm.

-Hamas condemns the Security Council's decision to approve the US proposal for Gaza: "The decision imposes an international guardianship mechanism on the Gaza Strip, which our people, its forces, and factions reject. By all means, resistance to the occupation is a legitimate right anchored by international laws and treaties. The weapon of resistance is linked to the existence of the occupation, and any discussion on the matter must remain an internal national issue related to a political path that guarantees the end of the occupation, the establishment of the state, and the determination of fate"

-Trump: Congratulations to the World on the incredible Vote of the United Nations Security Council, just moments ago, acknowledging and endorsing the BOARD OF PEACE, which will be chaired by me, and include the most powerful and respected Leaders throughout the World. This will go down as one of the biggest approvals in the History of the United Nations, will lead to further Peace all over the World, and is a moment of true Historic proportion! Thank you to the United Nations, and all of the Countries on the U.N. Security Council, China, Russia, France, The United Kingdom, Algeria, Denmark, Greece, Guyana, South Korea, Pakistan, Panama, Sierra Leone, Slovenia, and Somalia. Also thank you to those Countries that weren’t on this Committee, but strongly backed the effort, including Qatar, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Turkiye, and Jordan. The members of the Board, and many more exciting announcements, will be made in the coming weeks.

- Hamas Terrorists crossed the yellow line today and planted suspicious objects in the ground near our forces in the northern Gaza Strip. One of them was eliminated, and the others fled back.

 - Hamas to hand over to the Red Cross the body of a hostage. Israel said This is a "finding" that was identified yesterday during the searches in Zeitoun, and at our request, will be handed over for examination in Israel through the Red Cross. This is not the transfer of a kidnapped body.

-  An American official emphasized that the sale of F-35s to Saudi Arabia will not harm Israel's security or its qualitative advantage over other countries in the region. The official says that President Trump's approval of the sale came after a thorough examination of all data and scenarios. In Israel, it is emphasized that the sale was made after consultation with Jerusalem. The informed assessment is that the aircraft sold to Saudi Arabia will arrive only in about five years and will be models that do not have all the latest systems possessed by the Israeli Air Force.
