Statement Released by the family of R' Yosef Neumann
The following statement has been released by the family of Josef Neumann:
Our father Mr. Josef Neumann was severely stabbed multiple times during the mass attack Saturday night. The knife penetrated his skull directly into the brain. He also suffered three cuts to the head, one cut to the neck, and his right arm has been shattered. Our father's status is so dire that no surgery has yet been performed on the right arm. Doctors are not optimistic about his chances to regain consciousness, and if our father does miraculously recover partially, doctors expect that he will have permanent damage to the brain; leaving him partially paralyzed and speech-impaired for the rest of his life.

Different level of Shechina rests by רבבות אלפי ישראל
Growing Great at the Siyum Ha’Shas (Excerpt From Tape # E-12) Rabbi Miller ztl.
The gemara says כל בי עשרה שכינתא שריא — When ten Jews come together, the Shechina rests on them (Sanhedrin 39a). Now, you'll say that’s because a Jew is holy, so when ten kedoshim come together we understand that the Shechinah should rest on them. But I'm going to tell you a chiddush in this ma’amar – not to contradict the idea of kedusha, but a different idea in addition to that.

Security will be a top priority for Siyum HaShas
Report - Northjersey.com - Given rising anti-Semitic tensions following high-profile attacks in the greater New York region, security is a top priority for the event's leaders. "There will be over 300 uniformed state police in the stadium, and that's just the visible ones," said Rabbi Yosef C. Golding, Chief Operating Officer of the Siyum HaShas. Golding said he has fielded calls from nervous ticket holders about the event, which takes place days and weeks after high-profile attacks have been made on Jews:
As the Siyum HaShas approaches, Golding said security at MetLife Stadium will be on the level of a presidential visit. The East Rutherford stadium, Golding said, will be "the safest place to be on January first." read more at North Jersey.com

Erev Shabbos Chanukah Halachos Uminhagim
Halachos for this year erev shabbos chanukah based in part on Rabbi Felder's sefer Shiurei Halacha.
One who is traveling should give themselves extra time for arrival in order to daven mincha and light chanuka candles
One should light the Ner Chanuka before the Ner shabbos but it should be done not less then within a half hour to shkia or 5 to 10 minutes prior to licht benching.
The Mishna Berura writes its preferable to daven Mincha before one lights ner Chanukah on Erev Shabbos since it would be a תרתי דסתרי, meaning if one considers it to be night after the plag how can you go and daven mincha afterwards. However of one can not do so he may daven after lighting the menorah especially if it means davening with a minyan as oppose to davening before b'yechidos.
The lights must be capable of burning until 30 minutes after nightfall they should be lit for an hour and forty five minutes. Therefore, one must be careful on erev Shabbos to use sufficient oil or long candles that can burn until this time.
Children should also use long shabbos candles so their menorah will burn longer.
A wife can light shabbos candles after her husband lit the menorah and does not have to wait for everyone else to finish lighting
This year shabbos is also Rosh Chodesh we insert in benching על הניסים ,רצה ,יעלה ויבא
According to the mishna Berura we do not give or receive chanuka gifts on shabbos unless its needed for shabbos
