- Howell update:

A Howell Township council meeting last night was canceled after officials determined the council chambers and overflow room had reached capacity due to a large resident turnout. Several ordinances up for vote were meant to target the frum community

Before the cancellation, the council approved the 2026 budget, which includes a $3.2 million spending increase and a $1.7 million tax increase, reportedly without public comment on the budget prior to the vote. The remaining agenda items, including several land-use ordinances, will be rescheduled for a future meeting at a larger venue. The proposed ordinances include requirements for commercial mercantile licenses and new regulations on impervious coverage, driveways, garages, and accessory structures such as sheds and detached buildings.
The ordinances discussed in Howell Township would tighten local land-use and business regulations. One would require all commercial businesses to obtain a mercantile license. Others would set limits on impervious surfaces like pavement and buildings, regulate residential driveways and require garages for certain home sizes (with existing homes exempt), and establish rules for accessory structures such as sheds, pool cabanas, storage buildings, and detached garages, including how they can be built and used.

    1. It is the headlines of the mainstream chariedy Media too.. this distancing is a hoax both Bibi and the ultra religious parties are in cahoots to distance themselves from one another for the election both have to gain Bibi gains by being seen as someone who didn't give in and The ultra Orthodox . The ultra Orthodox parties parties gain since they seem like they are fighting the fight against giyus. Calling the elections a few months earlier serves Bibi and the ultra religious parties too so it doesn't come out during the holiday season.

  7. Doubt that anyone here is all that surprised.
    "New Jersey Democrats just "
Every member of the Democratic Party whether or not he/she actually votes for it-unless they vocally campaign against it-is tacitly a supporter of what is coming to pass!
As are their backers who put them in office-try as they will to baldly deny that.

  10. Is this right? Bus companies threaten to not come to developments that have speed bumps!? They claim it breaks their busses.
Maybe don't drive fast over the speed bumps -there is a reason why they were put in.

  11. The speed bumps are only necessary because of the poor design of the development aligning with surrounding streets.

  13. Is there food by R Heshele???

  14. Not true. Speed bumps are necessary because people speed on residential streets where there are children and adults crossing all the time.
Developments has nothing to do with it. Leave Lakewood and you'll see that there are cities across America that have speed bumps

    1. The problem is that there is no place for children to play in these developments so they play in the streets.

  15. Agree, Forest and second is one of the few spots in town that had zero problems. What jerks

  16. Should add that the Howell ordinance also bans sukkahs (though enforcement might be problematic.)
Easy solution (but they won't go for it) is let it apply to north of the interstate.
