- Giyus: Details exposed from draft bill authored by Yuli Edelstein According to Edelstein’s draft, 5,760 Charedim would be required to enlist in the first year following the bill’s passage, rising to 6,840 in the second year, 7,920 in the third, 9,000 in the fourth and 9,500 in the fifth. After the fifth year, the number of conscripts would be determined by the defense minister with the approval of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee but would not fall below 9,500.
The legislation would also impose sanctions on yeshivas that fail to meet recruitment targets, with anything less than 95% of the target triggering a cut in government funding.
In addition, yeshiva students would be required to sign in and out of their yeshivas using a fingerprint scanner and any student who is absent more than 10% of the time would lose his deferral.
- Trump: Last week's Job’s Report was RIGGED, just like the numbers prior to the Presidential Election were Rigged. Going to the movies 🍿 on Tisha b'av like many newer innovations has benefits as at least ppl are somewhat focused on the day rather than being bored waiting for the fast to be over. The vayamen videos also have benefits raising awareness and hopefully helping ppl to be vigilant about the issur.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that lomedei Torah may have better means of focusing on tish b'av and learning mussar to assist in their vigilance regarding shmiras eynayim means that they should do so and not use the crutches that others need to stay on the right path.
What did the Vatican movie have to do with Tisha bav besides the menorah was stolen?? How laim
ReplyDeleteKeep your idiocy to yourself. It highlighted the immense symbolic importance of what the menorah stood for among Jews all over, as evidenced by the fact that engravings of a menorah were found in so many places and when else would be a better time than Tisha Bav to learn about what a loss it was for Klal Yisroel that we no longer have it
Delete"crutches" for the disabled.good way of putting it. yup.
Deletekeep yout idiocy to yourself mr 330
DeleteHey 5:13. At least I made the effort to articulate my point. If all you can do is spew and spout then get a life.
Delete3:30 PM
Many of these Tisha bav movies make almost as much sense as the Uman motzai Rosh HaShanah disco concerts!!! Lol
ReplyDeleteglad you were at both
DeleteThe danger of teaching Jewish law to fools. Once upon a time a fool looked into a Jewish book that stated you must hear the words that come out of your mouth as you pray. So the next time our dear fool came to pray, he made sure that when all is quiet he could hear what he was saying. Although he was disturbing 10 or 20 people around him who were praying the silent part of the prayers, he kept trucking and was not perturbed when someone motioned him to quiet down, because after all, it says in the book that you should hear what you are saying.
ReplyDeleteThis terrible lack of decency has been getting exponentially worse as time passes. Be it krias Hatorah or shemoneh esrei, your tzarich lihashmiah l'oznov doesn't permit you to disturb others. Chazoraa hashatz is supposed to be done exclusively by the Shliach Tzibbur.
So happy to hear that this is the worst issue you have to contend with. Good for you
Delete"yeshiva students would be required to sign in and out of their yeshivas using a fingerprint scanner "
DeleteAnyone here have an issue with that? I don't. Why should Yeshiva students have any less accountability than the rest of the working world ?
RYK was opposed when some institutions wished to have punchcards for rebbeim.
DeleteAccountability in some form they c/should have perhaps, but this isn't it. Turning them into robots, jobniks,or college kids is antithetical to their identity
They should have no say on the yeshivos. Period.
DeleteHow copme hefkervelt didnt post the latest bais havvad poster that local Lakewood rabonim and other gedolim support bais havvad???
ReplyDeleteBecause some of the signatures were forged.
DeleteWhat does that tell you?
DeleteThere were ziyufim from Rabbonim signatures and a bunch had charata and asked REB mechilla
DeleteI saw a macho signed by REB and RYZ can someone fill me in the details?
DeleteStop with the lies none were forged
DeleteLol, one signature even had the rabbi's name spelled wrong. Others signed on a different letter, and the signatures were copied.
DeleteIs that the spin now?
DeleteThat guy made up a story that the Rabbanim were paid to sign. Why did nobody protest against that chutzpah?
I know that there is a movement attempting to bully Rabbanim into asking mechila from REB.
Rabbis of communities with a high divorce rate were asked to sign a letter in support of bais havad and the good work they do. Their signatures were then used in a letter to cancel out the gedolims psak, which effectively halts operations at bais havaad till its clarified if bais havaad follows halacha in אהעז or just say whatever they want.
DeleteOperations at the Beis Havaad were not halted at all.
DeleteNot one local Rav has accepted this decree from outside against the Bais Havaad, who asked Gedolei Yisroel how to act. If Reb Reuven Feinstein and Reb Eliyahu Levin told them to act this way, nobody has the right to delegitimize them. If their is a machlokes Gedolim, neither side gets to force the other to act any way.
Someone in my shul has a din Torah there, and the other side doesn't want to go forward.
DeleteThey're doing their gitten elsewhere. But keeping their dinei Torah (that's where the money is.)
A din torah or a diyun?
DeleteSo now that Edelstein and Gali are out, how does this effect the Giyus crisis? Same situation? Completely resolved? Significantly better? Somewhat better?
ReplyDeleteAgain yiddishkeit is the best parnossa It started with charging to cover costs and when they saw how much people are willing to pay it became a business. Same for school same for yeshiva's same for bais din.....
ReplyDeleteAnd the various kosher phone brands.
DeleteOverpriced. Don't really get rid of Internet. RYs insist on it in such a way, I'm sure they own the company. (In Israel, they definitely do, see controversy of changing area codes.). In America, at least one rebbe owns the business.)
You havent a clue about EY. Totaly not the case. Its the exact same companies that every secular person uses for their smartphones.
DeleteThe "area codes" are number groups that were setup that every number in the number group is call only, no data or texting.
And when Bezeq wanted to rationalize the system and get rid of "number groups" the charedi establishment called in their cahvrei knesset to complain and keep the current system so people can't change "groups" and save some money.
DeleteIf Bagatz attempt to block this or even delays this, fire them all with her!
ReplyDeleteThey keep on concocting by the day procrastinating procedures so eventually the Cabinet & public will just cave in.Again.
I spoke to REL who assured me that all the signatures are valid. He told me that hooligans baaleii machlokes are harassing and threatening signatories.
ReplyDeleteHere's a good idea, speak to the signatories themselves, you'll get a very different story from many of them.
Deletehooligans baaleii machlokes are harassing and threatening
DeleteSounds about right, when describing those who make secret psakim and have decided that they can play around with the Torah. How sad, unfortunate and tragic.
rel spoke to all signatories?
Deletewhat did they sign on? what were they told? did they know it would be public? what is their personal story?
Delete
