We are looking ahead to another serious test that will erode the loyalty of Lakewood mishpachos. Here comes another group of investors/speculators, whose aim is to funnel money out of Lakewood, because their kesher to Lakewood is non-existent. Regardless, they will succeed in charming the dollars out of the pockets of the masses, who will be convinced beyond a shadow of doubt that ALL the prices they are paying are MUCH lower than any OTHER store. And ALL the other stores are SLOPPY and sell dated product.... I sincerely hope that before more blood is spilt in town, ppl will wake up and realize how many people, who have been pillars of the community, always looking out for the tzibbur, are being hurt
ReplyDeleteJust the opposite its about time the olam is not taken advantage of anymore. No more do people have to shlep to Brooklyn for cheaper groceries. It started a few years ago as new stores came to Lakewood and for the first time there was real competition which forced stores to lower prices and provide better service.
DeleteMore money stays in Lakewood when people can afford groceries by shoping in the discount stores thus have more money in their pockets to pay for tuition and spend elsewhere if they want.
Pillars of the community have been making money off of us for years. They were in it for the money, not to help us out. Dont kid yourself. Proof is how they put up a fight when Moshes wanted to open up here. If they were really just in it to help the locals they would have welcomed moshes. Why wouldnt they have wanted moshes help in helping everyone? Sorry but I'm glad to spend less regardless where the owners of the store live.

ReplyDeleteWhy is the "average" police officer in this town making $120k+, while te average police salary in NJ is $86K (which is already much higher than the national average)?
DeleteA few pointers;
ReplyDelete1- KIf Moishas would have came in, none of the other supermarkets would have opened up here. So we are our own biggest enemies.
2- .....
3- Bingo is a place that one shops once a month, then fills in from the local stores.
It may hurt in the beginning only.
4- The consumer will gain by everyone of the stores shaping up (about time).
Rosh Chodesh s'hvat is their planned opening date.
ReplyDeleteLi'maaseh, It looks more like Adar.
Hefker velt is ……...KCL.
