Rubashkin and Lakewood

Rabbi Pinchos Lipschutz of the Yated Neeman talks to the Lakewood shopper about Rubashkin and his connection to the Lakewood community:

"Nowhere was Reb Shalom Mordechai's plight more keenly felt than here in Lakewood, says Rabbi Pinchos Lipscuhtz. "Thousands of people came to the rallies we made in Lakewood". He got the most chizuk, the most letters, the most connection from Lakewood. It was a beautiful thing to see, he wanted to come to Lakewood the day after he came home to personally thank the community for standing behind him. And while logistically the proposed Thursday night event did not work out, there are plans in the works to have Reb Shalom Mordechai come to Lakewood next week.

  4. Rubashkin will not be coming to Lakewood at the end. Even this week versus last week due to it being against the law for him to leave the state of NY

so if you want to see him then go to one of the gathering in NY

  7. He's not coming to Lakewood because the askanim here are weasels and they asked a shaila about hosting a party for him.

  10. This is unbelievable and shows how insecure the leadership us. All from communities in NY had celebrations for Rubashkin no one blinked but in Lakewood they are uncomfortable with their yiddishkeit and busy with an image problem.

    1. Same applies to eruvin. Its all politically run. And this is precisely why the chassidim wont put up with the bmg shenanigans.

  12. Can someone please enlighten the rest of us with the real story behind Rubashkin not coming to Lakewood?
Did you see the clip of his קבלת פנים in New Square? Amazing! Why should we not have the same opportunity?

  14. I think its because of the arrests that took place earlier this year for fraud. It looks bad for Lakewood to celebrate a person convicted of fraud

  15. The vaad had no problem publicly shaming innocent people calling them bad apples. Now they go running to ask if they should make something for Rubashkin in Lakewood.
    Disgusting of them.
