Kosher ground beef at Costco is Non Glatt

Costco has introduced a new line of chopped meat in the kosher section that is under Triangle K but not Glatt.
The CRC issued a statement-

"Costco has introduced a new line of meat from Tomer Kosher Foods which is certified by Triangle K and Rabbi Elimelech Lebowitz. Please note that this meat is non-glatt."
The Heimish looking label with hebrew letters is confusing with symbols of other trusted hashgachos.

  1. Can someone please explain the difference between Glatt and non-Glatt? And when it started? Did Reb Meir eat Glatt? Did Rabeinu Saadia Gaon eat Glatt? Did Rashi? Did the Ramchal or Reb Chaim Volozhener?
I would love to know. I did some research online, but I'm not getting much.

  2. Glatt today is a farce and so is meat labeled "bet yosef". Ask anyone who you can trust in the kosher meat business.

    1. meal mart bet yosef is a farce for sefardim, as is well known. of course glatt is much less sirchos than non-glatt. that is not a farce.

    2. That's precisely my point. Glatt means *smooth* .how can it have any surchos if it's glatt. These two terms of "sirchos" and "glatt" are contradictory .so by saying that glatt has less sirchos is basically saying that your OK with sirchos but less in the quantity of sirchos.well guess what . Not glatt had sirchos too. So how is glatt better then non glatt. Please explain.
