Oy Rebbe Mordechai Ben David
Oy Rebbe - Live! • Mordechai Ben David
The Heartbeat of a Legacy.
Captured live at the Hebrew Music Museum during the exclusive event "The History of MBD: Key Noteworthy Chapters," Mordechai Ben David marks the Yahrtzeit of his Rebbe, the holy Ribnitzer Rebbe zt"l.
In this intimate setting, MBD shared never-before-told stories and rare footage of his time in the Rebbe’s presence moments that shaped his soul and defined his career forever. Watch as he performs Oy Rebbe, the iconic "The Rebbe’s Niggun,” returning this melody to its source with unparalleled emotion and intimacy.

the Werdigers are Gerrers, not Ribnitzers.
ReplyDeleteMBD was his gabbai for 5 years.
DeleteThe legendary MBD will never be topped in Jewish music. Period. Nobody in last 30 years is fit to carry his jock straps. He is older now, but he was wonderful composer, had a voice strong and yet full of sweetness that was coupled with perfect voice control. He has 15 or so albums (Hineini, Vchol Maaminim, Pray and Sing, Neshamah, Hold On, Just One Shabbos, Let My People go, Jerusalem Not for Sale. Double Album, Moshiach Coming Soon, etc.) that will never be outdone in the Jewish world. Fried was and is great, too, with many outstanding albums, but there is only one reigning monarch. Gut vach to all
ReplyDeleteMBD was a star in the 80’s and 90’s but since then… his range and vocal skills were never anywhere near fried. But his stage presence, charisma etc is unmatched by far… Each have their maala.
