Iran Israel Updates Friday April 24

- Karoline Leavitt says the White House has witnessed "progress" from Iran on peace talks:
"We've certainly seen some progress from the Iranian side in the last couple of days.
"The president has made the decision to send Steve and Jared to hear the Iranians out."

- N12: Israeli intelligence has put forward a more straightforward theory, suggesting Mojtaba Khamenei may already be dead and interpreting the detailed reports—including accounts of serious injury reported by The New York Times—as deliberate Iranian misinformation. 

- Trump is sending his special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Pakistan to participate in talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, two administration officials tell CNN.

- PM Netanyahu: "I had an excellent conversation with President Trump. He is pressing Iran very hard, both economically and militarily. We are operating in full cooperation. The same goes for Lebanon: we have started a process to achieve historic peace between Israel and Lebanon, and it is clear to us that Hezbollah is trying to sabotage this. We maintain full freedom of action against any threat, including emerging threats. We attacked yesterday and attacked today. We are determined to restore security to the residents of the north."


- The European Union Aviation Safety Agency has extended the recommendation to avoid flights in the airspace of Israel and additional countries in the Middle East until May 1

- Iran has already dropped more mines in Hormuz earlier this week.

- Footage from Ben Gurion Airport appears to show a major buildup of U.S. KC-46 Pegasus and KC-135 Stratotanker refueling tankers on the ground.

- Wizz air has postponed flights to Israel through May 9.

- Iran sends a delegation to Pakistan
The Iranian Foreign Minister is expected to soon depart for negotiations in Pakistan

- In response to Hezbollah’s rocket barrage on the northern border community of Shtula last night, the IDF says it struck buildings used by the terror group in southern Lebanon. The IDF says the buildings were used by Hezbollah to advance attacks on troops and Israel.

- Gen. Caine: “As of this morning, 34 ships have met the US blockade and made the wise choice to turn around. One ship did not; the US conducted maritime interdiction operations against the Touska. “

- CENTCOM: For the first time in decades, three aircraft carriers are operating in the Middle East at the same time. Accompanied by their carrier air wings, the USS Abraham Lincoln, USS Gerald R. Ford, and USS George H.W. Bush include over 200 aircraft and 15,000 Sailors and Marines.

- CNN reports that the Trump administration is considering eliminating Ahmad Vahidi, commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, due to his extreme positions, which are an obstacle to advancing negotiations between the US and Iran.

- Trump: Iran will have to stop funding Hezbollah to reach a deal with the US.

- CNN report: US military officials are developing new plans to target Iran's capabilities in the Strait of Hormuz - in case the current ceasefire with Iran collapses
