- U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced a new military mission called Operation Southern Spear, suggesting the “war on drugs” may be shifting into an actual armed conflict. In a statement on X, Hegseth said President Trump ordered the action and that the mission, run by Joint Task Force Southern Spear under U.S. Southern Command, is intended to protect the U.S. homeland by removing “narco-terrorists” from the Western Hemisphere and stopping the flow of deadly drugs.

- NJ American Water has notified customers that paper billing will be discontinued. To continue receiving paper bills, customers must re-enroll online; otherwise, billing will automatically go paperless.

- Baruch Matir Asurim:  An Iraqi Kurdish judge has officially rescinded the death sentence of Binyamin ben Limor Chasin following the successful completion of a sulcha peace settlement earlier yestertday in Kurdistan. This historic decision ends a decade-long ordeal and intense pidyon shvuyim efforts on Chasin’s behalf. Chasin, imprisoned in Iraq since 2015, is now finally free from the threat of execution. He was visited in prison yesterday by Dayan Rav Chid"a Weiss of Antwerp, a global advocate for pidyon shvuyim, who has been deeply involved in efforts to secure his release.
