Hi Everyone,
ReplyDeleteIt’s almost Rosh Hashanah, that time of the year when everyone is trying to be better, and looking for ways to improve.
I would like to suggest something,
Recently I was talking to my neighbor a friend, and told him that my daughter is home for three years and she never went out yet.
His reaction was the usual, what you have a daughter on the market I had no idea!
Wow you are my neighbor, do you not know what’s going on in the world? Did you ever ask me how my family is? Do you care about another yid?
NO!
So this is a simple thing, when you meet your neighbor, friend, etc.
Don’t just ask [generic], how are you.
Because they will just give the typical answer “Baruch Hashem”. [people are very hesitant or ashamed to say they have a girl or boy that can’t find a shidduch, unless asked directly].
Rather, ask more detailed and specific, “how is your family, how are your children”?. [also you can ask, how is your Parnosah!? – so many people need help, a loan, a new job etc… and you can help].
Then you will probably hear about his daughter/daugthers/son/sons/ that need Shidduchim, and you can help… [redt a shidduch today, think of someone for them]!.
Which is probably the most serious problem facing the Litvishe Olam in America.

A year of marrying off our daughters, by bringing the boys home earlier, and the girls chipping in. and waiting a year or 2, like the Gedolim wrote recently.
