- Lakewood Vaad member doubles down with a follow up post on LinkedIn after he received backlash for the first post how Lakewood traffic is good. He. Blames the state for the traffic and calls those upset about traffic complainers
See post text below:
I wasn’t expecting that! A few days ago, I wrote a lighthearted post about looking at the bright side of situations. I used the Lakewood traffic as an example.
Sure, traffic can be frustrating, but I pointed out that it’s also a sign of a growing and thriving community. It was like I opened a can of worms.
Honestly, I can write an entire post about how the State promised multiple times to widen Rt. 9 and make it a full double lane, or how efforts are being made to push the County to widen other roads. But that’s not the point.
The post wasn’t about traffic, it was about perspective. Life always gives us two choices: to focus on the challenges or to find something positive in the situation.
It reminds me of a story from my childhood.
There was a member of our shul who always seemed to find something to critique—whether it was the chazzan’s pace, the length of the drasha, or even the room temperature. One day, frustrated, I asked my father why this person never seemed to have anything positive to say. His wise answer?
This man's father was the same way! My message to you- smile!
Look for the good, even when it’s hard to find. Life’s too short to spend complaining. And if you can’t do it for yourself- do it for your kids.๐
Are there aspects of everyday life you’ve learned to appreciate in new ways?
Some responded via comments on the post:
"Why are you blaming the state when the zoning board you control is approving a project 4-story office building at 685 River Avenue that will preclude the state from widening Route 9?"
"I’m sorry to contradict you on this, but you did not write “a lighthearted post about looking at the bright side of situations, using Lakewood traffic as an example.” You wrote a post specifically about the Lakewood traffic and how it was a good thing. Of course it’s important to look on the bright side of things. But you are talking about an unmitigated disaster that is only getting worse with every passing day, and it didn’t have to be like this. People are suffering, watching countless millions of their dollars in lost productivity going up in smoke. When someone’s house is burning and his values possessions are going up in smoke, we don’t lightheartedly tell him to look on the bright side. Especially if more could have been done to save his house."
And the yeshiva that was hit yesterday?

DeleteUnbelievable the arrogance achzariyus and chutzpah of the vaad to be so out of touch and belittle the suffering of thousands on a daily basis. It's mind boggling that those who show no rachmanus to the plight of Lakewood residents are the ืืืฉืืื ืขื ืืฆืืืืจ. They called lakewood residents bad apples and now make fun of those who wasted their life and lost money and quality of life sitting in manufactured lakewood Traffic.
ReplyDeleteRav Shneur would have run them out of town
Set aside For a minute, the callous mean unthoughtful comment. This community leader is obviously not all that bright . reality is, a well laid out town brings in greater economic growth. For example a strip mall with a proper parking lot will bring in more business for the stores then one which is Short on parking spots and difficult to get in and out, and in the long run appreciates in value too. A well laid out neighborhood Will increase the value of each individual property more than a neighborhood which is congested for example Westgate vs Other developments which are laid out properly. It's not just a matter of traffic it's a matter of Growth in the value

ReplyDeleteOooopsie
How much did it cost the taxpayers to place and then remove this stop sign, which was installed as a favor to a blogger who lives on that small side street.
Deletewhich blogger
DeleteWhy is LSTA getting away with this by not providing legally mandated busing
ReplyDeleteThey have no right to deny mandated transportation to 50000 children
This is what happens when you get free. See the chassidim have their own bussing and don’t have to deal wit by these garbage bus drivers and garbage bus companies. You all want free but only on your convenience. Go figure!
DeleteAgreed and this after they didn't pick up my Childs bus route for the second year in a row making me pay 360.00 out of pocket each month. To add insult it injury I needed to harass them to get the aid in lieu (Finally just got it for this past school year) which only covers a fraction of the total I pay.
Deletehuh? chasidim's mandated bussing is just as free as anyone else's they just figured out how to game the system better.
DeleteI'll happily drive my kids to school a few times a year than send my kids to the bankrupt chassidishe schools
DeleteThey have yiddishe drivers
DeleteRABBI Schnall campaign promised bussing, widening the 9, less traffic, and the 70 among other promises depending on the day and location.
DeleteThe Vaad is an extension of Daas Torah stop attacking the roshey hayeshiva
ReplyDeletethe troll says what?

DeleteRabbis in Skokie can claim it as much as these RY
I don't get get it how cbn pushed for the reelection of meir and Menasha, who control all appointments to the zoning and planning boards and are probably responsible for all the goings on in lakewood govt with the masterclass and development
ReplyDeletebut now are screaming about the unelected members on zoning and planning
A bunch of clowns that are ignorant of how lakewood township works
Where they paid to endorse meir and menashe
CBN got gelt to push their candidacies. Plain and simple.
DeleteFinally getting slightest backlash for the deterioration he brought about & he's whining how unfairly he's now being treated.Such sheer mendacity
ReplyDeleteit's Ben-dacity!
DeleteDon't forget it was meir and Menashe who were in power when they had the fake master plan public hearings the master plan committee was stacked with developers and they pushed the density that the boards now say they have to follow
ReplyDeleteDid you know that Lakewood elementary public school K-12 spends $29,443 yearly per pupil?
ReplyDeleteDid you know that Lakewood elementary public school K-12 spent $14,530 yearly per pupil, just two short years ago?
What happened in this short amount of time? Why did nobody pick up on this? https://patch.com/new-jersey/lakewood-nj/s/j14k2/see-how-much-your-nj-school-district-spends-per-student-new-data
and did you know that a large percentage of the lakewood public school children do not even live in lakewood but no one wants to rock the boat by looking into this?
DeleteUh oh, all the Trump haters are gonna go nuts now that Speaker Mike Johnson said that a man cannot become a woman. They're gonna accuse him of being part of the Trump cult.
ReplyDeleteThe right wing has been pushing this issue, as though it was a focus of the left.
DeleteIt is only the focus of a small percentage of the radical left, not of the political left at all. The democrats are not busy with this at all.
To 5:55 -- there's a new member of the House that claims he's a woman. That's why the issue is in play. Obviously ร Demoncrat.
Delete5:55
DeleteThat "small" element drive the whole democrat coalition.Mitigating that is disingenuous
Can you name any positive issues nowadays on that side of the aisle?
Take that back a smidgen.
DeleteThe Biden administration & FTC deserve considerable credit for reviving trustbusting
What right does 'senior white house staff' to voice their opinion on what an elected President does? They should all be removed ASAP.

ReplyDeleteDoes anyone have more info in this? Looking for it but can't find anything. I need to be in that neighborhood tomorrow
To "need to be" -- just bring your .22. You'll be safe
DeleteMonday was yarzeit of Rav Meir Kahane hy"d. Murdered by Al queda, (they took claim for it, per 9-11 commission), of which Hamas is a member of.
DeleteHamas is not a member of Al Qaeda. They are two different Islamic terror group who do not like each other.
Deleteit doesn't say in the 9-11 commission that Al Qaeda took claim for killing Rabbi Kahana. Louis Freeh of the 9-11 Commission did say that Nosair was part of a group affiliated with a mosque in Brooklyn that had a connection to Bin Laden and which was used to train terrorists.
Many of these Arab groups hate each other.
DeleteBut to kill Jews, everything is OK.
Nosair's group was involved in the two World Trade Center bombing and air attack. Led by the blind sheikh whose mosque was off McDonald Ave between Boro Park and Flatbush, who was involved in the assassination of Egyptian Pres Sadat.
