- New York Gov. Kathy Hochul gave the green light Thursday to relaunch the drive for congestion pricing in New York City by imposing a $9 toll on most vehicles entering the core of Manhattan during peak hours.

Now the race is on to get congestion pricing approved before President-elect Donald Trump, who opposes it, takes office in January.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy issued a statement from the other side of the Hudson River condemning the plan and vowing to sue to stop it from going into effect.

- Hazardous busing: At the BOE meeting last night board member Moshe Raitzik asked the state monitor to clarify who pays for Hazardous busing. These are streets that are unsafe to walk in. For instance kids who live in Westgate and go to school on Cross streets can not walk since there are no sidewalks, yet they still have to pay for courtesy busing and not considered mandated since it is within 2 miles. The state monitor said the township and district should be responsible to pay  yet Lakewood township only pays courtesy bussing for public school children while LSTA charges yeshiva students for courtesy busing. The monitor said he will reach out to see if the state will pay for Hazourdous busing. Lakewood officials have so far not paid at all for kids who live on Hazardous routes.

 - The ownership of Six Flags Great Adventure will make a major announcement about the park and its future later this week, sources tell New Jersey 101.5. Six Flags Entertainment Corporation will announce the closing of the Kingda Ka roller coaster. The company will also announce additional plans as part of a $50 million dollar investment in the park to commemorate its 50th-anniversary celebration. A new and exciting ride will replace kingda ka.

the park has also applied for a construction permit to demolish the Green Lantern roller coaster, the Twister attraction and the parachute ride.

- Giyus update: The IDF said Thursday that it had seen a significant increase in the number of ultra-Orthodox men who have been drafted into the military this year so far. However, it is still far from reaching its conscription goals.

The military has said that it currently requires some 10,000 new soldiers — 75% of whom will be combat troops — but can only accommodate the enlistment of an additional 3,000 ultra-Orthodox soldiers this year, due to their special needs. This would be is in addition to some 1,800 Haredi soldiers who are already drafted annually (TOI)
