Some Lakewood democrats are expected to line up behind his candidacy if he's the front runner most likely challenging Jack Cittarelli as the republican nominee. Gottheimer went after Trump "The election outcome was a horrible loss for America “Every candidate running for governor agrees we need to stand up to Trump on the major issues.”

Lakewood vaad member post on LinkedIn continues to draw harsh criticism on social media for comparing Lakewood to Manhattan saying traffic is a good sign of a vibrant town. A local store owner wrote how lakewood traffic has destroyed his local business and other local businessesOnly in lakewood will you find multiples od the same store within a mile or two of each other because their customers will not come to them if they need to sit and hour in traffic. The vaad member is lucky that nobody has opened a competition to his business in another part of town.
The original post on LinkedIn why Traffic in Lakewood is a good sign. The article started with "I love the Lakewood traffic!"
I know that’s not what you were expecting to hear, but let me explain why.
I believe the traffic is actually a symbol of a healthy community and economy.
When so many people are going about their day, there’s more opportunity to connect, do business, and grow. Yes, it might be hard to get around, but it’s a sign of something great!
Think of Manhatten.It’s always congested.
But you know what?
👉That’s where all the business happens.
Yes, if you go out to the boondocks, you may have a much quieter, peaceful existence, but the business opportunities are just not the same.
And it’s not only better for the business owners, it benefits the consumer as well.
More businesses = More competition = Better Prices. So, next time you find yourself stuck in traffic, and feel like complaining, remember this. It’s just a sign of a robust vibrant community. And that’s a good thing!

ReplyDeleteHe's a rich man and a business owner, he can afford to sit in traffic. Ask him how much his employees have lost from their hourly wages sitting in traffic. Better yet, ask his employees the question.

The Vaad guy is completely missing the point.
ReplyDeleteHe may be right if we had a choice between gridlock traffic and no building. But here, the choice was between smart building and dumb building. If we had banned cul-de-sacs twenty-five years ago, Route Nine would look completely different. If builders would have to pay for all of the improvements necessary, our taxes wouldn't be so high. If we had real independent traffic impact studies before approving building, things would look different. If the Yeshiva buildings would be more spread out, with one near Westgate and another near Raintree, things would look different.
If we had people looking out for the town with a long-term view, we would all gain.
Why was a three way stop sign installed on Ridge and Shemen? Thousand of cars on Ridge traveling and I dont recall any traffic in the Shmen? Interesting.
