Newcomers moving in lost dont know who turn to for schools doctors mechanics stores or services. They dont know the ropes, enter neighbors and strangers that guide them with the necessary information to know the ins and outs. Online forums creating a place to help people settle in.
They arrived here in the US shortly after Sukkos and trekk across the country asking us for help. Our fellow brothers from Eretz yisrael unfortunately have to come on to us for help they are away from their mishpachos with the burden of parnassah on their mind. They rise at vasikin and don't stop making their rounds until late at night. Its not an easy task having to ask another person for something let alone to ask for money. Lakewood responds by welcoming them with a warm Hachnosas Orchim not only giving tzedaka but providing food shelter and a home away from home. A new organization that helps lower fundraising costs by providing drivers and credit card machines. A Bais Hatavshil, or yechidim providing their homes with basements and attics to accommodate guests who stay in town.
Someone is making a simcha a shabbos sheva brachos they need places to put up their guests 20-30 families, no problem. In some developments and neighborhoods neighbors have a system putting up guests when someone makes a simcha even total strangers.
A yeshiva Bachur stands on a street corner on a cold rainy day early morning or late at night waiting for a ride to or from yeshiva, he's welcomed into a warm car and gets a ride home.
