    1. You have no clue what you are talking about!! Yeshiva can't just decide to open when they want. Opening up the Bais Medrash is one thing, but to be legally open as a "school" is not allowed and in order for anyone to get any legal documentation that they are in "school" for any government program or for any credits they want or need for the future, yeshiva needs to operate in a way that fulfills those requirement. If the Bais Medrash opens, and no one calls in to the phone system, then they won't legally be considered in Yeshiva which will adversely affect many talmidim..... Learn what you are talking about before commenting stupidity.

    2. This is not true its scare tactics threatening the youngeleit about losing programs so they can to keep it closed because they dont want to offend uncle phil. No one is disqualified and not considered out of school during covid19 and btw the youngeleit rented a gym on their own and not calling into the phone system either. also where is the 3 million dollars that was supposed to be given why are the kollel guys not getting what is for them.

  3. So the Vaad lied about the protest !
It was a dangerous thing .
    They risked our lives !
That’s why there was a robo call telling us to leave our radios on over Shabbos !
Thank Hashem we were saved !
The Vaad risked our lives for politics

    1. Your comment is just made to incite everyone. We all knew the claim that he was hacked was false. We all knew what we were dealing with. It's just being confirmed now. I am no fan of the vaad, but in many cases, such as this one, working behind the scenes and "making Peace" were wise moves.

    2. You have all the hallmarks of a paid vaad troll in damage control mode. It was Hershel Herskowitz that brought it to attention and got the police to provide security. The Vaad jumped in afterwards to be relevant and take credit. They praised a guy who called to burn down Jewish businesses in Lakewood when they got egg on their face they came up with the hacking story and yet they had the entire community in fear a entire shabbos. Shameless and heartless

  4. I am still waiting for BMG to distribute the ~$6,000,000 for the students due to the hardship of COVID lockdown. The governemtn gave them this money and nothing. Yungerleit are desparate for funds and money for them is not being distributed.
Some posters say it is tied up in red tape... What is taking so long? The money ius for the students!!

    3. we are not talking about a Kollel check but money for students to deal with the covid hardship. $6,000,000 was given to BMG and we are waiting for it.

  5. So according to this source, the person filed a false police report and should be prosecuted similar to what happened in Chicago.

    1. The “organizer” only said he would file a report, but he never went through with it. He was advised not to commit the crime of filing a false police report, which would place him in serious legal jeopardy. He quickly wisened up when he was told that he’d become another jussie smolet.

  6. Very simple. They can either operate as a legal school as they have been doing with the phone and local botei medrash or they can have everyone go back into the yeshiva as a religious place not a school. No one is going to stop them. Not Murphy and not the police. But then they are not entitled to the money they usually get from the state or the millions in extra funding from the stimulus bill since they are not a legal school without the phones. If going back into yeshiva is so important they can do it but you can’t have it both ways. They won’t get the funds which can mean stopping the kollel checks and letters and will also mean having everyone start to re-pay their student loans since they are not officially in school. There is no right or wrong here. It’s just a question of which is more important.

    1. How stupid do you think people are. Do you honestly think that students will have to repay their student loans at a time when all mortgages are getting put on hold and stimulus checks are handed out like candy. Its a PANDEMIC You are attempting to scare the kollel guys and justify why the botei medrash are closed. Everyone knows its all about sucking up to Murphy hoping to cash in. Its all about the $$$ and its disgusting!

  7. Its about showing murphy who is in control of the yeshiva and pretending to work with the health and state officials that they should know who is the boss. If they hear that it is open already than the whole charade is up.

  8. A lot of big talkers here. It’s a huge achrayus to open a institution as large as BMG and count on everyone to comply with even the minimum guidelines to keep it safe and legal. Most people can’t handle enforcing the rules in a ten person backyard minyan.

    1. The Roshei Yeshiva were ready to take achrayus on the yeshiva until the electricity was shut and the doors were chained closed and the locks switched.

  9. The minimum guidelines are fakenews at this point. Most if not all of us see right through it. As long as you feel different about it then it goes away.

  10. Why does masoras hatorah do this every time? They call the distribution for 12 pm and by 12:10 there’s nothing left?!? Such a chutzpah to the many people waiting in traffic. It’s very obvious that they don’t have proper management at that site.

  11. It has zero to do with Murphy! The yeshiva can open up as a religious place and no one would say boo! It has to do with it not being legal to open AS A SCHOOL and therefore not being legally allowed to take any federal or state money. Only legal schools are entitled to the funds. Only legal schools are allowed to give letters. Only legal schools are allowed to defer student loans. That is what the phone system is for. If it is so important to have torah berabim and then it should be opened AS A RELIGIOUS PLACE NOT A SCHOOL and they can sacrifice for torah and not take any funding, but you can’t have it both ways and want to take all the funding and give letters as well. That is not legal or yashar.

    1. Anon 9:27,
It sounds like ur saying that if the yeshiva opens up without express government authority they will lose their license to operate as a school. This will trigger their thousands of students to lose that status and be forced to immediately become responsible to arrange paying back millions in collective student loans. It will also cause them to become ineligible for many programs that consider them them legal students. Am I missing something?

    2. Its a scare tactic that is not true just like the 2 big dogs that stood outside the yoshon during pesach after they locked the olam out of the bais Medrash. Nebach

  13. That and having to return or refuse millions in funding so they aren’t taking money they are not allowed to take is exactly the issue they are grappling with. They would be open otherwise.

  14. Why can't BMG open unofficially as a religious institution and have talmidim call in for chaburas on the phone lines for official purposes?

  15. There is a lot that can be done if you want to fight for it. Asbury Park passed a resolution to open restaurants in defiance of Murphy's executive order, because it's hurting their economy. A dozen chassidishe rebbe's wrote an open letter to coumo to open camps. Chaim Deutsch a councilman in NY went to albany to fight for camps, agudah and other camp directors met with coumo to plead their case. But in NJ there is never public pressure to get things done. And I'm not sure how much behind the scenes is done either.
Do you know how they got the hospitals in NY to allow family in to be with the patient. It was yossi gestetner from ojpac that produced an ad which ran on TV stating how important it was for caregivers to be with the patient. Sure enough coumo allowed 16 hospitals as a trial to allow family in. Did we have anything like that in NJ of course not. We just accept whatever they decree, and say Dina dmalchusa Dina so we have to listen while our buisnesses crumble.
Did you know the head of the state police said on Sunday that every police dept. can choose if it wants to enforce the executive order. So who is telling the Lakewood police how to enforce.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Murphy himself said at the press conference that every municipality can enforce as they please, this is why he didn't get cited for violating his order, so WHO is sending the Lakewood police after qnyone

      Delete
    2. Our own leaders are petrified of Murphy and dont want even a peep uttered against him. They send messages to Trenton how they are fully cooperating with his orders and snuff out any dissent. They are engaging in the deepest forma of חנופה just for a few more dollars. We must rise up and say enough is enough from these self appointed leaders and spokespersons whose only interest is their financial gain.

  17. Camp Winaukee, properly, decided not to open for their own campers, yet Agudah thinks its fine for them. The below is from Winaukee's Facebook page:
With a heavy heart, we write to inform you that Camp Winaukee will be postponed until Summer 2021. On behalf of all of us, thank you all for your support and encouragement over the past few months.
Every possible avenue to make this summer happen was exhausted. We persevered and fought and fought to solve every obstacle. In the end, there were just too many mounting battles to unequivocally operate camp safely, and be the true Winaukee that we want to be.
We hurt for our campers, we hurt for our families, we hurt for our staff...we will miss you all greatly this summer. A community cannot be postponed, and we will return home again in 2021 with a renewed sense of purpose and resilience. We are already counting down the days until we can be together again: catching the beautiful sunsets fading into Lake Winni, breathing in the fresh New Hampshire air, and laughing and sharing moments around the fire with our camp family.
Linked in our bio is a video from our amazing staff that represents the promise of an unforgettable return in summer 2021.
